Yes, I know there are lot's of threads about RNG in Destiny 2. tl;dr Dear Bungie, please look into it, from my experience it's just awful. There should be some sort of RNG protection or other clever solution of obtaining certain items (at least that are mandatory for badges) Or the items should be earned through some tough activity / quest, ace of spades / chaperone is the perfect example, but activity can be much harder, like niobe labs or solo shattered throne (my preferences) My experience, like a simple example: 45 last wish runs and still no 1k voices 56 forge frames - got 8! le monarque bows (that's ridiculously high drop chance) and 0 Ada lore pages in Gofannon forge (very low drop chance) Still no "Starlight Shell", but doing all Ascendant Challenges on 3 chars from the beginning of Forsaken Still no "Wing of the crow" emblem, but doing shore bounties on the cool down. I know many other people who almost live in the game and still don't have some items which others get from first try - why is that a thing? [b]Would be grateful if you upvote this so Bungie community guys will pay some attention, thanks in advance.[/b] An update. 13.01.19 was my 47th full run Last Wish raid and I took 6 ethereal keys to the final loot room - on my 3rd chest I finally got 1000 voices. Still some of my friends missing some drop, like tyranny of heaven from the Vault encounter and they have more then 50 lw runs... I have almost every item in the game with something around 2.1k hours in Destiny 2 at the moment, and still missing "Starlight Shell". 15.01.19 did the last ascendant challenge on my third character this week and finally got the "Starlight Shell". I have a feeling that Bungie will never see this thread still I'm sharing my experience to ease my frustration knowing that I'm not alone in this struggle. I really hope right after the dust settles due the split between Bungie and Activision our feedback will be more meaningful.

    Ugh... something is burning, I can feel it in my bones... Thanks for french / runic riddle in the niobe labs designed for 0.00001% of total player base. And thanks for not working triumphs such as: Mint Condition Relic Rumble Fastidious Miser (at least for me) And cause those are hidden I'm more than certain this is not their top priority, cause there are forges and more important things, like guitar for those who still struggle with Perta run?... Currently I'm only 66000 triumph points, with 5 ethereal keys and something tells me - no 1kv for me this week, intuition, bungie rng? :D Btw still no "Starlight Shell" and the icon says I've done more than 200 ascendant challenges... Sigh... So much fun...

  • It’s wrong when you invest so much time in the game and still one item blocks you in achieving 6+ triumphs along with some badges. That’s just not right!

  • The problem is why would I want to invest in a game where i cant play with the things that are most fun after grinding 4 months of gameplay doing literally every milestone ranking up in cruicble when im out of milestones and still missing some forsaken drops that are the best ones only for them to be nerfed right before or after i get the said exotic.

  • That would imply they actually would have to do something about the hundreds of even thousands of players getting screwed by broken RNG. Good luck with that.

    • Their system is not RNG. That is just an excuse they make. RNG cant make the same strike happen 14 times in a row. RNG cant make the same weapon perks roll 3x in a row.

    • While they’re at it they can look at the RNG system linked to ammo. If you can’t fix your own system how about just putting refill stations throughout the environment.

[b]Would be grateful if you upvote this so Bungie community guys will pay some attention, thanks in advance.[/b][/quote] Three of us play together and have all played the same length in time same light levels , one gets 5 plus exotic drops in 3 days ... yes 2 drops a day and regularly gets them while one of us hasn't had one floor drop, only quest exotics so not the same . While me I get 3 of the same shotgun, in a row in stikes , second 2 lower than the first, and purple drops are worthless I'm 606 currently and they drop at 578. Primes are the only useful thing to me and I get Amor when I need weapons to increase my light. 2 of us are not wasting time grinding a game for trash n grind for useless items N needing to level up for forges is a pain those purple drops need to match my light cos my blues are now looking better . Bungle needs to safe guard getting multiple drops one after another and deal with exotic drops . But saying this I've seen multiple post for a while on the subject and still nothing , I'd love to know what system they have for drops because for an amazing thought out game the rng sucks n needs dealing with.

Anthem’s coming out next month. Time to immerse yourself in a new franchise as this one has little reason to continue.

      • There is something that needs to be addressed about the RNG system. To the players who say that it's fine the way it is: No, it's not. We have scores of posts and people who are documenting issues with the system. Perhaps YOUR experience is fine, but there are many of us who are locked out of rewards due to no fault of our own. To the players who say it's because people just aren't committed to grinding: we've seen this proven false time and time again. My own personal experience is with the Dreaming City ghost, sparrow, and ship. I've completed the Dreaming City weeklies and dailies on all three characters for 14 weeks straight. That's 42 character completions, and I have yet to receive ANY of the three items. That is not for lack of trying. This is particularly annoying, as Cursebreaker is the title I'd prefer, and the only thing holding me back from it is RNG. To the players who compare the RNG system to the Lottery: these systems are not meant to be analogous. The RNG system has to give enough rewards to players to keep them playing. There are too many games out there as competition to Destiny; there is only one Lottery, it doesn't need to keep players from branching out. If you invest your time and money into a game and you aren't seeing a reasonable return of fulfilment, you leave for another. To the players who say, "You just need to put more time in": this is circular logic. By it's very nature, RNG means that theoretically, you could NEVER receive an item. Statistically improbable, but we have players with thousands of hours in the game, who have the same chance of receiving a particular item as the new guy. That methodology will drive people away. There are some good suggestions out there to help mediate the problem. Remove RNG from titles: In Bungie's ViDoc "Forsaken Launch and Beyond", an employee said of titles, "When I see one in the wild, I'm gunna be like, 'That person is a god to me.'" A god of RNG perhaps, as the only title that doesn't require luck is Unbroken. These were meant to be skill based, so why are raiders with 50+ completions locked out of Rivensbane? Correctly utilize the system intended to add probability weight to a drop whenever you don't receive it. The system is inundated with duplicate drops. I received 3 Waking Vigils as rewards to my Dreaming City weeklies on my Hunter today, alone. Implement grinding-based quests instead of RNG. They did this with Segira's Shell. Sure, the grind was odious, and repetitive, with little deviation or relevance, but we could get what we wanted with time invested. Bungie doesn't need players to defend their poor system. They have a community manager for that.

        • It needs more than reviewed. They need to get rid of the shitters and hire top tier developers to keep up with the top developers they already have working at Bungie. It only takes a few half wits to ruin an awesome game.

        • LoL I have almost got all of the forsaken exotics from forsaken launch on two platforms so far with hardly any duplicates. The rng is fine the way it is. Stop complaining it's not gonna change so might as well stop because it won't do any good.

            Another 3 last wish runs without any 1kv drop... According to my observations there are some personal limitations in the drop table for some item on the entire the account with extremely low percent of getting it, but when you get it at last this chance increases dramatically. Le Monarque is a great example.

            • I'm missing 6 exotics .. The raid weapons ursa and dunemarchers.. Its fine how it is people just don't consistantly complete they're weekly activities or play only a couple hours a week

                • Every time you complete an activity, the chance for the chase item should increase. I'm still chasing: Wings of the Crow, Polestar II, Smoldering Flame, Tilt Fuse, 1K Voices. It shouldn't take forever to get vanity items (the first 4).

                • My rng isnt bad but ive heard horro stories, slight tweaks for sure but I wouldnt say major changes, unless maybe its for outdated Y1 stuff, then maybe

                • The current system does NOT reward dedicated, long term grinding and play time. The current system is nothing but a giant participation trophy dispenser. Someone can buy the game, do 1 raid and get the raid exotic, while someone who's been playing for years, farming the raid for months straight will never see that exotic because of RNG. -blam!- this RNG system. Bungie knows they -blam!-ed up.

                    • I guess the easiest thing to do - to remove (very rare(for some)) exotic items from mandatory requirement for titles / badges / achievements due current item drop cruelty / unfairness. It's frustrating to be limited in a game by item drop algorithm without any correlation for time involved / skill. And yes, one can tell that 1kv was a guaranteed drop for world first...

                      Ultimately, Bungie needs to implement a combination of better duplicate protection, and increased chances to get certain items as a player achieves more completions (i.e. like how the NF reward system is set up - greater chance to get item after each completion).

                      • RNG either needs fixed or RNG drops need removed from the titles. I have played enough gambit to reset 3 times last season and am about to reset again this season and still have not got the Hazard of the Cast to drop. I have gotten countless copies of all the other weapons and all the armor for my Warlock. This drop alone is keeping me from getting the dredgen title. And I would have had it weeks ago if not for this drop being so stingy. Honestly if Bungie doesn't want to mess with RNG that's fine. I don't really even want the gun other than for completing this triumph/title. Achievements should be actual achievements not something tied to RNG. Leave in all the weapons that there are guaranteed ways to get but remove those that rely on this terrible random drop system.
