Ghost Shells, and how to make them good.

So I kinda hate the way ghost shells and perks are done. Getting a nice looking shell is great until it rolls with a mercury detector and telemetry drops. I think all shells should be a cosmetic option, and perks should be something we earn that are permanent bonuses to our ghost. For instance, EDZ xp buff could be earned by doing flashpoints in the EDZ. The cache/resource finders could be earned by collecting so many of each resource. And maybe start them at a smaller detecting range, and as we level up the perk, the range that we could find materials could extend. Hell, make the Gunsmith Telemetries actually matter (like using them as a way to reroll guns/armor/masterwork stats), and as we got kills with different damage types, we could increase our chances of getting those to drop. That would limit the amount of ghost shells I end up sharding for being useless, and give us something else to do.

    Exp Ghosts ARE useless You should get in the habit of stocking up on and using Fireteam Medallions throughout your playtime instead. They give you the same amount of exp increase, but do NOT stack with exp Ghosts. Fireteam Medallions also have other bonuses and have always been speculated to increase Exotic chances while in a Fireteam, though I never see how anyone could prove that. Keep in mind, you don't have to actually be in the a Fireteam for these benefits, you get them Solo as well. - I don't see Ghosts having a huge advantage ever in the game as it would be sensitive to "pay-to-win" from Eververse. However, if you care to maximize profits, in the long run, ghosts are useful now. I have a Cat Ghost (chance to get additional tokens on a specific planet, in Crucible, and in Strikes) for every planet, so whenever I do a Strike I have a ghost for that planet and 2 chances at more tokens + that Strike's Nightfall emblem for more. I also use Boons for every strike I do and use the Token gifts while in a Strike. Normally you would get 5, but with the perks from the Ghost you can get up to 7 a pop with the Ghost alone. It all adds up.
