Ward of Dawn needs buff, because it is useless due to Well of Radiance in both PVE and PVP (in PVP, still okay, having influence on "some" supers). Also it's not just fun to use this compared with other supers. I think these problems result from its cost performance.
Now, how to buff? Improve survivability; Allow us to use WoD by consuming half of super so that we can deploy it more fleely. Also increase its endurance so that it can barely survive from any supers from outside in PVP. These changes will bring tactics. Imagine when a hunter casts Blade Barrage, a titan immediately casts WoD and saves his teammate. That is "a hero moment" which is exciting and fun! I know the hunter may get mad but this is "fair trade"; both can't get a kill and both supers are gone.
So this is my opinion. What do you think? Do you think WoD needs buff? How to buff?
p.s.
I have completely forgotten about Gambit. WoD is good in Gambit, in my opinion, because you can protect your teammates who have Motes from invaders. They cannot get kills from long range, this is meta in gambit, and they have to get closer. Also, it is good when your teammates charge to primeval with SG.
Anyway, this super should be buffed or re-worked, considering other activities.

Someone (arguably not a core player and quite young) dropped one in the nightfall recently (Fanatic), during one of the ad phases and the rest of us laughed our asses off (yet it was acually helpful, sadly no HoS14 but not AS helpful as Ursa+CoC. It needs help...longer duration maybe? Bring back weapons of light so I can stack it on top of a WoR? I don't know. The last time I used it was in breakthrough + HoS14 and it worked really, really well as the opposing team HAD to go through the bubble (blindly shotgunning).

Let’s look at some facts and misconceptions about well of radiance: Pvp. Well of radiance does not stop: Sniper headshots. Rockets to the face Any roaming or single use super, except maybe arcstrider, but that’s if the run straight at you and you have shotguns equipped. Telesto Linear fusions Most heavy weapons Teamshooting In fact it doesn’t negate any damage. And you could just shoot the sword to disable the super!!!!!!!!!! Well of radiance does: Give a slight overshield that recharges. Gives bonus damage Bonus damage on melee for allies in close proximity. Pve: Well rounded team support Pairs nicely with lunifaction boots plus tractor cannon. An exotic that recharges super. Can have an almost unlimited rift regeneration from healing allies, can throw overshields. Well may be more well rounded in pve in terms of being able to absorb add damage and give monus damage. It still does not offer the level of protection a bubble does. In pve and pvp. If the shit gets too hot, a well of radiance ain’t gonna protect you. Sure ward of dawn could use some love, but one thing you should not be able to do is shoot through it. That would be op as you can take damage externally. Also, doesn’t another sentinel class less you shoot through a shield already?
-
Yes very clearly, alongside gg they both suck sadly
-
+25% damage resistance and orbs generated from bubble taking damage (up to 3).
-
An exotic that grant weapons or blessing would be great!
-
I see how they are comparable. WoR doesn’t protect you from any super that outputs damage. WoD protects you from most supers. Chaos, novas, bb, and crash can kill you without out having to get into the bubble. Any super can kill you if they are inside of the bubble as long as you don’t reapply or shotgun them. Any super can kill a WoR as long as they don’t die.

They just need to bring the subclass back to its former glory that it had in d1, it was so much better then and had a good neutral game
-
Bring it back to its former glory Bungo. I miss it 😣
-
They should just give ward of dawn it's own mini branch where you can swap between weapons and blessings of light. Swap between having a chance to generate orbs on heavy kills or orbs on taking damage.
-
nah its ok 2 supers in one basically. the player doesnt know what super u will use
-
It definitely needs a PvE buff and some better use for non objective game modes. But it's buff should not change how it is in countdown or break through.
-
Honestly, all i think it needs is to generate orbs when damaged. It's already tough as hell and generating orbs for you and your teammates would be extremely useful (i know I'd use it a lot more) The rest of the Code of the Protector skill tree however needs buffing. I find Defensive Strike quite lackluster as it get shot down quickly and has no way to generate melee energy like others skill trees.
-
I think it should act as it does, but it should create orbs when it takes damage, as well as create orbs when you get kills inside. (Or getting kills while having blessings of light with saint-14 helm)
-
It already was pretty significantly buffed. A six shooter golden gun can’t pop it, nor a nighthawk. Blade barrage, reach, and nova bomb can tho.
-
Give it the when it gets shot generates orbs perk for pve. The lack of overshield is annoying without the use of saint 14, as its way to specific to run over most other exotic armour.

nah is totally fine now ,
