A few stray shots from a random weapon can destroy a sparrow, sparrow detonates, killing the one riding it, even when the amount of damage dealt to the sparrow would not have nearly been enough to kill the guardian had they been shot directly. So sick of being so vulnerable when riding the only readily available vehicle in the game. Give it more damage resistance, or at least let the guardian's shield protect it as well as the guardian.
