Things could’ve been more mature and intimidating I think if this game wasn’t built to young teens and up.
.
I’m sure the voice acting would’ve been more realistic and serious since The “Last” City was center fire from all enemies around. The allies you gained could’ve been more involved to the point where you actually would’ve missed them if they were killed off (sorry Speaker, you had one last hurrah against Ghaul, but you didn’t impact the first story at all).
.
The enemies could’ve had a more terrifying upgrade visually as well. If all enemies have a weak/critical point to hit, limps could be flying or their faces would look like a toddler stomped pizza if still alive from a headshot. If enemies were close to death it would’ve been great to see desperation take them over and try to kill you while yelling or moving violently at you.
.
I’m sure even the story could’ve been upgraded to meet standards surrounding survival and guerilla warfare/ assassination tactics that the Guardian use.
.
I’m not asking for Gears of War or God of War blood/gore fest, but even Halo had enemies bleeding out from constant gunfire punctured into them and blood smeared on you and vehicles used to ram into the enemies.

As much as I liked D1, as soon as I heard the ghost I thought oh dear, D2 has taken that feeling even further especially with the big gold bouncy castle in the sky. It’s more for kids than anybody else.

Teen rating gets a broader audience then a Mature one, but the story is almost always worse off because of it.

Destiny is portrayed as it is today because of the direction and writers, not because they are restrained by a rating.

I don't exactly think making the game more violent and gory would help make it any better, but it's interesting to think about at least. I've actually always liked that Destiny is a T rated game. I don't want to be shown constant mature content just because I'm a mature person. Part of the reason I play video games is because I like to step away from the world's problems for a few hours every once and a while. Still though, interesting to think about.

I think about this all the time. The one thing I absolutely hate about Destiny's direction in storytelling is how Ghost not only speaks for us, but speaks to us as if we're 10 years old. Whether it's Dinklage or North, going back and hearing Ghost in D1 pre- Taken King is so different compared to now. The sincerity is there, and in a dark themed game of post apocalyptic proportions, I don't think modern humor is relevant. Even beyond Ghost, all other characters have been given dialogue involving humor. It's just too much. Cayde-6 should be our comedy relief. And perhaps it would take a rating of 'M' for Mature to mature this damn story. Hearing Ghost sarcastically laugh in D2 makes me want to tether him into a cloud of Nightstalker wombo made of Golgoroth's farts followed by Celestial Goldies with combustion and a Nova to obliterate any leftover particles from the most cringe-worthy character in the game...

I would absolutely love to hear what a rated M Failsafe has to say

I had always hoped for a darker experience. Destiny 1 seemed to have a few of those darker moments - be we are now firmly headed in a different direction...

Nah, M is pretty close to X. Don't need my wife walking in on me chasing a chick in a thong, less than a bra and a gun. Then yelling at it to drop chest piece I need or hunter pants. What kind of game is this....
-
but there would be no room for infantile cringy jokes in the game then
-
I always wanted a middle finger emote.
-
i don't get why everyone just gets along in the Tower you're telling me this is Earth and nobody is rioting or being racist or stabbing each other, this is your depiction of Earth, right?
-
I would also like it much more. The lore seems more brutal but the game should also be. It would fit in the universe.

if it was rated M, can i do the raid naked ?
