Disc Not Reading? Call 1-800-4-MY-XBOX for support (see page 35).
Every game I have reads fine but Reach will not load. No scratches and it won't even get to the point where I can install it to the HDD. It even came up as a DVD a few times...
Urk: If you are experiencing disc read errors with Halo: Reach, please contact customer support at 1-800-4-MY-XBOX and report the issue. As soon as we have more concrete information, we'll update this thread with the next steps.

Do not leave anymore games. Also check for scratches on your disk and maybe that might be the problem. If there are any really deep scratches then take it to a video game store that will take of the first layer of plastic from the disk. That would help and it usually costs 5-10 dollars. If there are minor ones then just get it buffed. That might fix it, it fixed mine when i had the same problem. [Edited on 06.28.2011 4:21 PM PDT]

I bought the halo reach edition x box and I am getting disc unreadable in the middle of every firefight match and every 5 or so, multiplayer matches any help out there for me?

Looking for a little bit of help. When I am in matchmaking I am only allowed to play 3 maps. Reflection, Zealot, and Boardwalk. When ever I am out voted or the map isn't either of these it will say load failure. I just downloaded the Defiant map-pack but that doesn't help. Now its saying that if i leave anymore games then i will be put on probation. Is there anyway to fix this?

Halo Reach will work on my old XBOX 360, but my new slim one won't even reconize a disc in it.

Same happened to me so got a new disc and same problem. tried all the advice on here, and still no joy. Started to play halo 3 again untill i could get new xbox but that started doing the same thing; i dont even get disc error anymore just freezes half way through mulyiplayer games. EDIT: Tried the fix at the top of the page this also hasnt worked, ive now got a warning from Bungie for leaving too many games lol. Think i will have to fork out for new xbox!!! Similar situation. Game worked fine on my old xbox, just bought a new slim a few days ago, and right after I beat Exodus on legendary, I got a "dic could not be read error" and now everytime I put it in either console it just says "play game" and spits me back out at the dashboard if I try to launch it. Not sure if I should swap xboxes, buy a new reach disc, or what. If I DO buy a new reach disc, it will definitely be used, because I'd like to avoid giving a terrible company like bungie a penny more of my money. Doubt they will find a fix before they break the team up on 7/7, and I'm willing to put money on that.

i had this problem for the longest time. i got so fed up with i tor open my 360 and fixed it myself. so basically what the problem is is the laser eye getting stuck on the bars. so what i did was sprayed wd-40 on the bars that the laser eye is on and now it works perfectly fine. if u have trouble taking apart ur 360 just look it up on youtube.

The disc might be dusty. It has done the same thing to me. Just wipe it off with ur Shirt or somthing and it should start working.

hey yeh it says its a dvd too sometimes on mine but what probly happened was it wasent scrachted it was sitting in the sun light and probly burnt out the disc you have to get a new one

if your disk isint reading then the copy could be a bad one, or your xbox is janky lol either way get another copy and save the recipt if it dosnt work either u have crap luck with game disc's or your xbox isint allowing it

For some reason, I can play off disc for at least an hour before it crashes, but when I load off the HDD it almost instantly fails.

Sometimes it says that it isn't reading once, but when I restart it works fine.

Bleh giving me disc errors now. about to get into a multiplayer game and bam disc error. Hope Bungie fix this crap soon.. even bought all the Multiplayer Packs and cant even play the game...

And Halo Reach works for me now btw, removed the HDD and placed a Memory unit from kingston, 8gb.

JimtHEclOWNED try what TWISTED FNFA suggested, play with Memory Unit instead of HDD just when playing reach till Bungie post any solution. Try it out and see what happens

Mine has been going on for a while, but has progressively gotten worse. At first it was just a freeze once every 2 months, then once a week (Bout every 5-6 hours in game), now its every game. I start a matchmaking game. I play for a few mins. Suddenly all the sound dissappears or gets really muffled like the space mission in campaign. 5 mins later it either freezes or it crashes and pops up with the disc unreadable. Weird thing is I've reinstalled it with no errors twice and this still happens. Help? My xbox is not valid for warranty either as it has been fixed by a friend for red ring. Silver tray, white box.
