Your idea for leveling weapons to unlock mod slots is very similar to how Warframe does it I do like that system but I have zero faith that bungie will make really interesting and useful mods for fear of balance im almost sure that mods 2.0 will be an utter disappointment

Man - you are right on here. Don't get your hopes up - I can't see them implementing any meaningful changes... they haven't so far (here's looking at you tracking emblems!)
