#removeactivision

I really think that would solve a lot of issues, but part of me also thinks it would be useless, cause bungie is now full of the same kind of people that activision has, but still, activision is the root of all the problems that destiny has.

  • Stop being delusional. The kind of issues that have been plaguing Destiny for quite some time now often would have had absolutely no financial impact whatsoever for Activision / are completely inconsequential for a parent corporation and would never even make it on their radar (unless shit hit the fan from a PR standpoint, as they sometimes did because... bungie!) Many of the piss-poor decisions that have angered and eroded the player base over the years are probably squarely imputable to the buffoons running bungie like it was their own personal circus. If Activision was indeed the omni-present, over-controlling and hands-on evil parent corporation that some deluded bungie fanboys seem to think they are, they probably would have fired a whole bunch of people at bungie a while back and maybe the game wouldn't be such a disaster right now. It's much more likely that bungie (over)committed to delivering an MMORPG with competitive PVP to Activision without having the (RPG) experience, skill or manpower to successfully / sustainably do so. They got drunk on the initial success of the game, egos got over-inflated, and so they probably basked in the glory of their initial financial success and enduring player population stats (grind addiction + players hanging on to the potential of what this game could become thanks to fun gameplay), but did little to actually figure out what players liked ("play the game our way" had always been their philosophy) and what they should focus on to make sequels even more successful.... And enjoyable for players. Instead they spent the way too much time / effort on weapon balancing to please / appease the -blam!- sweaty competitive PVP base. Because of a few dev's MLG wet-dreams.... Contractual obligations, financial targets and deadlines "suddenly" became a reality, the same bunch of pretentious buffoons who did not quite manage to fully ruin D1 were left in control of the project / their itty bitty parts of it and they served up the empty pile of shit that is D2. Including eververse. Certainly sounds a lot more plausible than Activision executives picking up the phone to ask Luke Smith (or whoever) that PVP should bow be 4v4, include dual primaries with fixed rolls, and that players should no longer be able to chose match type, don't you think... ?

  • This. This would achieve so much more than #RemoveEververse ever could.

  • True. A sad tale to be sure.
