Destiny was a sinking ship before Eververse was even announced. I left D1 in June 2015, not long after HoW dropped. Eververse was introduced in October 2015, a month after TTK dropped in September 2015. My hiatus lasted until September 2016, a couple weeks before RoI dropped. I permanently retired D1 in November 2016. The reason I ultimately retired D1 was because the PvP experience took precedence over the coop RPG experience. This became apparent to me with HoW. I came back for RoI because I was curious to see if this was still the case. It was, so the game was permanently retired in November 2016. I purchased D2 thinking that expecting the PvP experience to take precedence over the coop RPG experience would allow me to enjoy the game more than I enjoyed D1 post-HoW. Unfortunately, I didn't realise just how little appeal PvP has for me. I did build my first desktop PC in November, probably my most fun project since soft-modding my 3DS consoles. We'll see where my gaming takes me now that I have a badass mid-tier enthusiast rig. So far I'm having a blast with Fallout 4. The weapon and armour mod system is amazing. There are mods taking it even further. I currently have a mod installed allowing in-depth ammo crafting. You have to craft the shells, primers, gunpowder, etc. before crafting the actual rounds. You can't get much more immersive than that. TL;DR - My first hiatus began well before Eververse's introduction. My issues with Destiny are due to the PvP experience taking precedence over the RPG experience. I believe the removal of Eververse will have no effect on those issues.
