Anyone have an opinion on if we should rinse our stash of tokens or not before the update? Will they be obsolete? Or will we be able to cash in on new crucible armours etc when the update drops? Anyone hear any official statements from Bungo?

Does not state they will reset so I would stash them if you want specific Armor from vendors, just be aware they will be worth less to certain vendors after the update.

You will be reimbursed for the tokens already spent. Read it

Edited by meatballsublime: 11/30/2017 9:18:11 PMI am saving them... So I hope no shenanigans happen. Point to consider... Bungie did say that the token drops are increasing and the cost of faction packages is increasing by 30%. This means existing tokens will be less valuable (e.g. provide less of a reward) after the update. Just food for thought when strategizing.

Hoard everything.

Edited by Maxx Powers 1: 11/29/2017 2:52:47 PMSave them. Tokens are only valuable for a brief time after you hit max power level. You will need them again when the time comes. Remember, gear from tokens drops at your floor power level, which is 5 below your base power level. So they are worthless while leveling up. Example: if you are 290 with all +5 mods, your base is probably 285 and therefore token gear is 280. But once you hit max power level, it dramatically changes. Token gear then drops at a range, from +0 to +5 of your base power level, on a rotating basis. So horde tokens until you hit max power, then check with the world vendors every 30 minutes and Zavala every 3 hours (Shaxx is weekly, I'm afraid) looking for that max power level roll. When a vendor hits max, spam everything you have for max gear. This is how you go from having 1 set of max power level gear to having an entire vault full of max power level gear in about a week. After this, tokens become worthless again until the next expansion.

Edited by Disciple4Christ4: 11/29/2017 5:00:48 PMI have 3000 gunsmith materials, 200+ of each planet faction, 600 crucible tokens, and 200+ vanguard tokens and 31 raid underbelly keys And 24 exotics with 20 legendaries

That is what many are wondering. No point once you reach max light, have all the guns & Exotics to cash them in now. Might as well save them with hope there will be some use for them after the DLC. What would really suck is if Bungie didn’t say anything and then all your tokens disappeared after downloading the DLC. That’s happened already. Faction tokens disappeared from player inventories prior to the 2nd Faction rally so it can happen.

I’d also like to know about earned bright engrams, just wondering if I should use the few I have saved up on each character or turn them in beforehand. Hmm. I hope someone can answer this.
-
I strongly doubt they will change with this or the next DLC, I believe completely they will change with the first Major Expansion in September. But if they do change Bungie will likely have some type of exchange system like they did in D1.

Different version of the question: I have a ton of EDZ rep tokens on a level 260 character, which I had been saving for the "plateau" between 260 and 265. However, I'm wondering now if those rep tokens might be useful for a new plateau (which, I'd assume would be around 290 or 300 with CoO). Any insights welcome, particularly from Destiny 1 vets on how Bungie handled level cap bumps in the past. :)

Save them, they won't be obsolete.
-
I don’t think they will be useless but I see them saying you can trade them in for something like we did with the shit out of vog. I think they will do something because think about it, everyone has hundreds if not thousands of each thing. Everyone would have all the new guns in like an hr. I can’t see them not doing something

Got 234 vanguard tokens from last week doing the nightfalls. Spending them now will only give me legendary marks because I've got majority of the stuff he has for offer. Just hope bungie don't remove them!

Hopefully they discuss it tomorrow and/or TWAB.. considering CoO is a week out.

Great question
