My Views on How to Improve D2 (From Season 1)

<First off I'd like to say that this is a one-off post depending on how Season 2 is handled and I'll try to stay neutral but that may be hard to do when I just came off of playing Iron Banner and not getting the damn chestplate. You should also know that I may be biased considering that I am a -blam!-ing Destiny lore fanatic. Also, season 2 may address many of the problems listed here and since season 2 is already finished and ready for release, this may be a little late... whatever on with the post. Tokens. Tokens are pretty much the driving force behind "vendors", but that's a problem. Without the ability to really buy anything, vendors really do feel like slot machines. The only character I've seen take legendary shards is Xur, and he's useless to high leveled players unless they need an exotic for a collection. So, might I suggest a weekly rotation? What I mean is 2-3 items (4 for IB, none for Raids and Trials because those are THE endgame) exclusive to the vendor get sold each week or each time the event comes around. The tokens and packages would be a chance to get the rest of the items before the event or week is over. This would cost various amounts of legendary shards (maybe 100 for IB and 25 for social space vendors and 50 for planetary vendors). Also, ditch the "additional rewards", that's where event or vendor-specific shaders, emblems, or ornaments would go. Legendary Shards could be kept in the additional rewards slots, though. And, LOWER THE AMOUNT OF DUPLICATES. Make it so you CAN get duplicates, but not at the amount that people are getting now, it's not a grind, it's bullshit. There is a problem that would arise from simply implementing these changes, and that would be for planetary vendors. There isn't a lot of specific vendor gear for them. So, make some. Reskinned weapons are fine, but different looks would make people go nuts. Imagine an Io Auto Rifle based off whatever the hell the ruins on Io are, or a Nessus-based Scout Rifle made of Vex tech (while Mercury splices human and Vex tech, this would be actual made-for-human-use Vex weapons). Maybe a Sniper Rifle from the EDZ wrapped in camo-equipment. Golden age tech/Hive mix for Titan? Another problem would be the ability to get every weapon/armor for a vendor in a week. That's why I proposed weapons for planetary vendors and the ability to still get duplicates, just not at such a high rate. The not-such-a-high-rate-thing would help with Trials and Raids so that you wouldn't get the damn Helmet over and over while you just want to get those damn boots. Next is replayability in PvP. NOBODY WANTS TO PLAY SUPREMACY 4 TIMES IN A ROW. So, what's the solution? Look at Halo 5. Halo 5 has 3 matchmaking options, so that's where you get 2. Quickplay, and Competitive. This would mean that if you jumped into Control with the Competitive setting on, you'd get a tough fight, but if you jumped into Supremacy with the Quickplay setting on, expect just a quick match. Oh yeah, I should mention. Go back to D1 where you could select gamemodes. Not only does the menu feel empty as shit with only 2 nodes most of the time, but there aren't enough diverse gamemodes in it. My penultimate gripe with Crucible is the lack of gamemodes. Where is Rumble? Mayhem? Rift? Hell, Rift could work in a 4v4. Oh yeah, almost forgot... PRIVATE MATCHES. My final gripe with PvP are the maps. Too small, simple as that. Don't limit yourselves. The maps are beautiful, but feel small. I don't want CATHEDRAL OF DUSK (Spaceball 1) level maps, but something like Dungeons should work. Now, replayability in PvE. Please let us select campaign missions and strikes from the map. Quests let us do that, but the quests aren't replayable (do that, too, O'Captain My Captain is awesome). You can keep meditations as heroic versions... so as they are now, but just have us replay them from the map. They were there initially, but they're gone after your first playthrough. My last thing with PvE is the lack of rewards and diversity. Raids specifically don't have good drop rates for ANYTHING. Let us feel rewarded. Challenge modes are great but it should be an extra reward, not potentially the only chance to get a reward. This is where duplicates would be fine (as long as the challenge chest didn't give you the same thing you just got for the checkpoint). This one is small, but it bothers me a little... diversity in Nightfalls. You have so many things to choose from. Tank Inverted Spire, Tank Arms Dealer, Vex Pyramidion, Taken Pyramidion, Fallen Savathun's Song, etc. But the same ones get the spotlight when they're Nightfalls. I want to go through a Vex-specific Pyramidion Nightfall or the Inverted Spire but with a Tank in the middle. I don't need to discuss the argument on timers that much. Prestige yes, normal no. More modifiers yes. The game isn't as bad as people say it is, but there are some problems that need fixing, these are just some ideas on how to fix them. I love the story and lore but certain things need to be tuned for those who aren't well-versed and even those who are. I love Halo 4's story but the gameplay just doesn't feel right sometimes. The end. Leave your thoughts below.>
