Disney *AND* World Gaming Community *FORCE* Electronic Arts (EA) To Remove *ALL MICROTRANSACTIONS* From Star Wars BattleFront II - - Time For Us To Do The Same To Activision/Bungie

I'm sure you all know about the World Record "DownVote" Thread on Reddit about Microtransactions in EA's Battlefront II ... Well, thanks to Disney (owners of Star Wars IP) and the Gaming Community, EA has removed *ALL MICROTRANSACTIONS* from SW BF 2. All rewards are earned by in-game skill and play-time. This is unprecedented as EA is the largest game company (publisher/producer/developer) in the world. Even more than Activision (contracting Bungie atm); so we as fans can overtake this. We can start our own rebellion against Activision and Bungie and win just as handedly. The truth is out there. We have won 1 war. We can win another...

  • there is no need to get rid of these MTAs in this game.. they do not affect the game for others.. granted mods could possibly be seen as p2w but wtf does it do.. not much.. people would need to buy a lot in order to get a slight slight advantage. for everyone else. there is no need to buy into the whole micro transaction thing.. you get more than enough bright engrams over time. you get more than enough "good colors" to put on your gear (unless you used them while leveling up). in order to make future games and expansions cheaper (and only if they would be getting cheaper!) I would not oppose putting more MTAs in the game.. let people who have the dough buy exotic weapon skins, exclusive or very very rare color scemes, special or nearly exclusiv armor skins. Let people with more money get some cosmetics in order for everybody to have a cheaper game.. this should be a win win win .. there are a lot more ways to put in microtransactions that could help everybody without breaking the game, but the company running the game should be a lot more upfront and transparent about it. Like: "ok if x amount of microtransactions are done till date x, we can offer expansion abc for 30-60% less. players who purchased a certain amount could get a special "aura/ symbol" that lets everybody know that they helped getting the price of the game down and that would eliminate the stigma of "spending money ingame suckers". Not saying that this is THE ultimate solution, but certainly one way to look at it. Also being able to buy dedicated server access for those who seek it would be appropriate. So people who do not play competively or just pay casual can do so and people who want more could buy in. Get the prices of the base game and the expansions down.
