the hunter grenades specifically cause holy crap are they horrible in pvp
super tiny blast radius and minimal damage is obnoxious
void wall is the second most situational ability in the game because it's super easy to dodge and you have to TURN AWAY from the person killing you for it to actually hit
which brings me to the number one most situational grenade that has gotten even worse in destiny 2: the tripmine
super tiny blast radius (funnel explosion); check
very slow activation period; check
is only around for less than 10 seconds: check
Can be destroyed; check
does not one shot anyone standing directly in front of it; check
out of all grenades in the game this one NEEDS a buff either bring back the one shot or make it stay either for 3 minutes or permanently because it's a DESTRUCTIBLE TRAP.
I think the only decent hunter grenade for pvp is the flux since it's the only radial grenade that has the average radius as the other grenades for titans and warlocks
vortex has that as well except the extra radius (that brings it to average) does so little damage with no other effects making it effectively useless unless you can get the drop on someone which is not going to happen

The activation time/ detonation time is horrible. Someone about to go throu door and I place a perfect Grenade that they just walk past. Or if it is active they sprint jump and slide past with minimal damage. Only good if active and they walk past right in front and you still have to cleanup with a shot.
void wall is the second most situational ability in the game because it's super easy to dodge and you have to TURN AWAY from the person killing you for it to hit.
Voidwall is not meant to be used as a lethal grenade, it's meant to block pathways and chokepoints. Example A: a guy you almost killed who's running away, throw a void wall in his path so he only has 2 choices. Run through and die, or defend himself from you. Example B: Trials of the nine/ countdown, you can use voidwalls to block an entryway to your room and/or buy you time to heal or reload.
also, smoke works just fine.
Edited by Kraiondeecenuttes: 11/3/2017 1:56:18 AMyeah here's the problem with that even as a hunter with no resilience I can walk through the void wall without losing half of my health from the width which is what makes it so situational it's only a threat to an already weakened guardian someone at full hp or even half won't suffer enough to be a deterrent that and it's super easy to jump over and take even less damage so if you get jumped and manage to barely get away with them on your heels this grenade won't save you, a vortex might because the damage threat actually makes the jumper wait long enough for you to get set up unless they have their super or high resilience and I don't know if it's me but snare smokes are stupid picky and whether it want's to effect even npc's which with everything else works just fine.

Yeah hunters def got the short end of the stick with everything! I will say the invisibility is the only thing that’s useful
