Cry, cry me a riverrrrr

"I don't have time to complain about what I don't have time to complain about" I find it funny that people feel they are entitled more from a game that provides so much more content than many other games for 60 bucks. So many tears shed lately in the forums, salt from the tears have been piled so much that it can be condensed and formed into it's own planet for future DLC. This is the equivalent of bashing a restaurant on Yelp over and over. "I really thought I'd get more food even though it filled me up". I'm still eating it regularly but man am I disappointed!" Quit whining. DLC's will be great, there will be more loot, many changes will happen that we ask for. Keep in mind Destiny 2 had been in development well before the DLC's for Destiny 1 hit that made it so great. D1 molded from a shiny turd into a fantastic game. Give it time. Quit crying, please. If it continues I will need to buy many shares in Kleenex. Update: A lot of good constructive criticism coming out of this post. Keep it up.

Yeah D1 became good at its end and through its growth brought many things to the table. Why the -blam!- do we have do it again, you'd think they learned their lesson by now? Nope, barely any of those features and have otherwise started from scratch. They're even going in the same failed foot steps everyone hated so far, if you're going to start over why the same way? Even with production working in parallel with the live team since TTK, why didn't anything move over and why do they have to un--blam!- it now? The fixes need to be in the base game, if you're happy they'll resell us stuff in a more dastardly way than D1 by all means eat that shit up.

        • I can’t deny the game WAS enjoyable, but then ceased to be after I hit 280. Destiny 1 had replay-ability even in the early days, something D2 seriously lacks. I completely understand all the gripe. They had a long time to bring us a sequel that improved upon the first and I just don’t buy the idea that it will get better. The thing I really dislike is this trend that the game improves over a long period of time and with every DLC. I turns it into one bloody expensive game at the end of it all. Everything is hidden behind a paywall and if this wasn’t bad enough in the first game, it’s become very clear that it’s going be even worse in this game.

        • While I agree with most of what you said, the things players actually have a problem with is the core mechanics of the game which most likely won't change with DLC's. People who don't like D2 should cut their losses now and start looking for other games.

            • No, I shouldn’t pay 60 dollars for a sequel that offers less. Then have to wait for DLC to fix it. DLC shouldn’t fix my game, it should add to my game. I shouldn’t rely on extra cash to make a game better.

I dunno man. Bungie doesn't seem to understand why people liked playing Destiny in the first place: feeling powerful and earning powerful gear. They thought it would be a good idea to make a prestige mode raid with zero loot. How?? lol They put a different shader on the raid armor and called it a day? People grinded their asses off in D1 raids because there was always a piece of loot someone was grinding for: Fatebringer, Praetorial Foil, Vex Mythoclast, Black Hammer, Fang of Ir Yut, Ex Machina, etc. etc. When you take away amazing guns like those, nobody is going to be waiting for Tuesday so they can grind for more shaders in prestige mode raid. It's baffling. They were so obsessed with making a perfectly balanced game (which didn't even work out, there's still a clear PVP meta), they forgot to make prestige raid weapons? Why is this? So people wouldn't feel left out if they didn't do prestige mode raid, even though they get free raid gear just by being in a clan and waiting for their sweet clan engrams to come in? D1 had the philosophy that the more challenging the content you took on = better loot. If you couldn't complete the activity, then you can't get the loot. That is the American way: put in the effort and reap the rewards. They rewarded you for taking on their toughest challenges and investing your time in their game. D2 has the philosophy of.... I don't even know, if everyone can't get the loot then no one gets anything. What's the point? You beat prestige mode and then why ever do it again? It's a cosmetic item farm.

                  • Stop saying give it time unless you mean give it time and money. Base D2 will never get better. Maybe the DLCs and expansions will be good but that doesn't change that the base game is an objective failure. It's like saying "wait until D3 guys." There is no excuse for D2 to be what it is.

                        • While the total amount of time spent on different activities and the gunplay both justify the price of 60$, the gameplay does not add any replay value. The goal of increasing one number by shooting and pressing the interaction button does not qualify as great replayable gameplay. Yes, D1 had the same concept but it introduced more ways of managing gear (upgrading weapons and armor, perk choices and cool down based builds).Destiny games generally have a very small amount of models for gear and perks that are not impactful, which is unfortunate, but in D1 players had more choices managing those. In D2 it seems that they embraced the fact that the gear is underwhelming in terms of performance and appearance and focused more on power progression, which is one-dimensional and unpleasant.

                        • I can see how it's annoying and can feel jilted coming from year 4 D1 to Year 1 D2, but something that people need to understand is that this is an intended roll out of content over time. They aren't going to just give you everything right at the start, you have to be patient. If you no-life everything super fast, then you can't just blame Bungie for that, especially when there are legitimate problems, like Iron Banner.

Kind of ironic that you make a thread crying about people voicing their displeasure over an obviously flawed game that we all paid for. Nobody cares that you are happy with mediocre garbage. That's great for you. My suggestion? Stay away from the forums. Go play the shit that you're obviously OK with. We have the right to voice our opinions on this matter as consumers of this half assed cash grab of a product. We aren't going anywhere. Now go grab a tampon before you ruin another pair of pants, or your parents furniture.

                            • you are full of shit elder scrolls online had many flaws, and still does, but you got more content for your initial $60 than you did on all D1 Dlcs combined let alone ESO DLCs bungie is and has always ripped us off when it comes to content the only difference is NOW the game has too little content and its not fun or rewarding at least D1 was fun and rewarding while they ripped us off

                                • I feel this game should've been in development for at least two more years. One to implement all the great things about D1 and then make it all work together with this new game. IMO the new weapon system and fixed rolls on weapons and armor were lazy and fast ways to "balance" pvp in the time frame in order to have the game ready for release this year.

                                  • There are many reasons people are salty over D2. Sure some are a bit over the top about some stuff, but others have a good point. D2 isn't horrible, and the game has potential. However it still had some flaws that needs to be addressed. That being said, we have no idea if any of our concerns will be addressed, and when. That is an issue. Bungie nerds to be open about what they have planned. One of the biggest issues is, there just isn't the kind of endgame content to keep you playing. There isn't anything to gain from it after a while. Even the stuff many people enjoyed for a while has gotten old. Pure repetition for no gain isn't fun for many of us. Steady new content would be ideal, but I think most realize that would be a daunting task for bungie to be able to keep up with that kind of schedule. So the game needs to find a way to be rewarding till the next bundle of content is released. That wouldn't stop all the salt, but it would quiet down a lot of it.

                                      • Reading the first paragraph reminds me that video games are declining in quality faster and faster each year. Oh well, I got to enjoy the times of no micro transactions, lootboxes, and actually having a bond with the game company and their employees, in a way it was friendly entitlement and feedback being shared. But yeah, this game might end up being good or it may not, just don't get too attached to an opinion because it may end up disappointing you.
