Let's be real here...(About "Improved" Story)

Would the improved story content really be longer than Destiny 1 if you weren't artificially slowed by not having your sparrow and having to run everywhere? I mean I get you not having a sparrow when you don't have light but after you get your light back it doesn't make any sense. I mean it's not like Holliday isn't around or there isn't Sparrows at the Farm. It just seems like they knew they were artificially padding the game and they knew the reviewers would count the number of hours the story took so they just made you walk the entire time. Sorry if this has already been brought up. I was waiting for all the reviews to come out before I bought the game but even after they came out most of the reviewers put a bunch of spoilers in the reviews and told you to buy the game before you watched the review so I was in a tough spot before I could play the game and find this out on my own.

  • The cabal bombing the city was a great start. But every cut scene after that is a monologue of Gaul talking to the speaker. The dialogue was filled with cliche lines. This was an awful story, beautifully shot. If you want to know what good storylines look like. Try playing The Last of Us, Uncharted or Farcry 3.

    • I only felt that the lack of a sparrow slowed the game at nessus and io

    • My problem is that people are praising the D2 story because it's leaps ahead of D1....yet if you played D1 you know how low that standard actually is. Everything is just so convaluted in destiny

    • I skipped all side content on my Hunter and Warlock and just took them straight through the campaign first thing. Not having a sparrow does not slow you down THAT much with regards to the campaign. The missions themselves contribute far more time than "having to run everywhere" with perhaps a couple exceptions. Destiny 2's improvements to story content have nothing to do with length, they come from things like having a clear plot with a clear villain and a clear objective as well as having grimoire cards available within the game itself. It may not be story-telling gold, but Vanilla Destiny didn't exactly set the bar very high.

    • Longer does not equal better. There's less story missions in D2 but if you've played either you should be able to easily tell which is superior. Albeit D2 story is still average, at least it's coherent
