So, I have done the raid a few times now and I have a big problem with its new loot system. I remember the D1 loot system, where every time something didn't drop for you, it decreased the chances of it dropping next time around. (Not sure if it was a myth, but it took me until RoI to get the Vex to finally drop) We were told that the new loot system would be an improvement, and what we got was 18 steps backwards from D1. In D1 you were guaranteed specific drops from certain encounters in a raid. (I.E, Revenge from Templar, Epilogue from Atheon, Etc...) Now, in D2 you aren't guaranteed anything from anything but the final chest, and it seems to be any piece of the set. I did the raid and had myself and two friends get no gear from any chests but the last. All we got from 3 encounters were 7 tokens and a worthless engram. By the end I had a total of 25 tokens, which is enough for ONE reward from the vendor as he needs 20 tokens to level. And all he gave me was the Warlock chest piece that dropped at a lower level than the one I just got from the final chest. That means that 2 of the four encounters were absolutely pointless to do for us, not because we got duplicates, but because we got literally nothing for them. And on top of that another member of my team got the Submachine gun to drop FOUR TIMES in one go! So how is going from a set of guaranteed drops for each encounter, to being lucky to even get 3 pieces of separate gear out of an entire raid an improvement? To me and my fireteam this just seems like nothing but an extremely lazy way to artificially give their lackluster raid some longevity. We we're definitely abandoned by RNGsus, but I feel like that there is more to blame on the system than the RNG. What does everyone else think, are we just whiners?
