Xur Left The Burner On
Now we know why the [i]Annex[/i] lit up with [i]Starfire[/i] and sent our lovely sweeper friend [i]Sky[/i] high. With [i]No Backup[/i] to sweep the tower, things fell quickly to anarchy. [i]Protocol[/i] was breached in every section of the tower and emergency [i]Plans[/i] were totally ignored.
There can be [i]No[/i] returning from this. The Red Legion will [i]Land[/i] soon and we know very little of their plans--[i]Beyond[/i] the total annihilation of guardians.
It all started with Xur. We should have it known it always would

In a bunker deep beneath the war-torn surface of Mars Captain Xur and his nine best soldiers were gathered around the satcom screen mounted on the wall. Above them the Skyburners Annex war raged on, dust raining down as the latest bombardment pummeled the landscape. The screen lit up and their general addressed the room. <Men, we....we have No Backup Plans...the Council is initiating the Starfire Protocol. Captain Xur? Get those soldiers to safety. That's an order.> The screen faded out and a somber silence filled the room. Captain Xur looked across each face, his heart heavy but his mind determined. "There is No Land Beyond this war...but we will not hesitate to do our duty...get your gear and ready your weapons, everyone...we have one chance at this."
