I'd honestly be surprised if Bungie themselves knows how it works. Luke Smith admitted they don't know what something as important as what the Darkness is, so I doubt they've figured out this stuff either.

He said that, at [i]one point[/i], they didn't know what the Darkness was. They almost certainly do now. I agree that they probably don't know how this works RN, though. That doesn't mean we can't give them ideas, though...
