I think I may be the only one who has this opinion, but I'll ask anyways. Am I the only one who wishes their guardian would be more vocal? Like even subtle dialect like there was in the beginning of Destiny 1. And yes I'm aware this is a beta and there may be dialect in the game, but even within this beta there have been key points where my character could have spoken and ghost spoke instead. I liked how my character would interact in cutscenes with the ghost. The "Little Light" joke is a line remembered by most veteran guardians. Could you imagine a story play through as a Hunter, and having an exchange of whitty jokes between yourself and Cayde-6? As a Titan, discussing battle strategies with Zavala? Or even as a Warlock, carrying an intellectual conversation with Ikora-Rey about whatever the hell Warlocks talk about!? Lol
Imagine playing a story mission, and reaching a cliffside in the game. To the left is a staircase, straight ahead is a cavern that goes downward. You now have 2 objective points, and at the same time you're now having an argument with your ghost in the middle of your mission. He tells you, that according to his calculations, it would be much safer traversing down the staircase and through the buildings (resulting in more enemy battles and increasing your end game rewards), but your guardian argues that taking a leap of faith down the hole would be much quicker (straight shot to boss fight, end game loot remains the same).
I don't know. Maybe my imagination runs a little too wild. Maybe I'm asking too much. As it is, this game looks phenomenal. The visuals, the gameplay. Story alone in the opening mission is more immersive than all of Destiny 1 ever was. I CANNOT wait to pick this game up in September. But my point is, that I'd like my character to have a voice. I haven't heard them speak since December of 2014. I dunno. Maybe he's got PTSD from the Black Garden and that's a grimore I never got to read.

Something ive always noticed about the voice acting is that when our Guardians went mute after the vanilla story was that every other character with a Ghost has the opposite problem. Characters like Zavala, Cayde, Ikora, Shaxx, and Saladin have Ghosts and even appear in cutscenes and when they are standing around. These characters all have spoken dialogue, but their Ghosts never talk. EVER. I've always found that annoying honestly. They can talk but their Ghosts seemingly can't, while our Ghost can talk but our character seemingly can't. It's a weird disconnect to me.
-
Agreed. I hate having a mute protagonist.

why do you type like T H I S

I mean, at least you tried to use paragraphs.
The luckiest seven you will ever meet
This has so many holes like destiny 1's plot it not funny

You don't need to double-space your essay if it's for a forum.

It's the most annoying aspect of the story campaign in destiny 1 at times you feel like the dumb muscled side kick as the ghost does the talking. It makes it feel like you have no story because you're too busy helping others with there's. The speaker/exo strangers fight with the darkness. Eris quest to defeat the hive and then taken. Mara Sov pursuit of skolas. Giving lord Saladin redemption over the lost of his friends against Siva.

I really like the blank stare you give your ghost in the beta as he's asking you questions.

Edited by gamz: 7/19/2017 11:14:20 AMHonestly, this is where I hope the dialogue system comes into play. I forgot where, but I think Luke Smith said there would be a dialogue interface, I'm not so sure about it though.
-
I hate how we don't talk or make any noise. It's incredibly frustrating. Especially when *SPOILER* Ur ghost falls out of ur hands and off the ship like. Like scream no or ghost or something! God damn that is an emotional moment losing ur ghost but nope just a mute stretching out his/her hand.
-
I've never been a huge fan of the "silent protagonist" Especially in a game where there are no dialog options. It makes our Ghost seem like the main character, and honestly I'm not a huge fan of the Ghost's personality. Our Guardians need a voice! They need to be heard!
-
Probably intentional for the Beta. They said that they want us to feel more attached to our guardians so this current lack of creation/voice in the Beta is probably so we feel more attached to our actual guardians when the game launches.
-
What a wallotext. I for one feel that our character's lack of involvement in the story is one of the biggest reasons why I don't give a shit about them and the characters that they "interact" with. It really does not help that Nolanbot is essentially our voice now, and he is just f(_)cking awful.

As a Warlock main, I'd rather chat with Cayde than Ikora. Never liked her. Neither did I like Zavala. They did a good job sitting on their asses. Least Cayde said screw it, let's board Oryx' ship.
