Roaming Supers - Thoughts?

I myself am pretty disappointed in the Fist of Havoc becoming a roaming super in Destiny 2. I always thought supers like that were cool for the fact that they didn't need to do anymore than be used once to cause devastating damage on the battlefield. At heart I will always be a Hunter because that's where I started... Which is why I can say the reason I was envious of Titan Smash and Nova Bomb on my Hunter was because they were these big strong attacks that you couldn't really do anything about. I figured Hunters lacked the strength to cause that much damage with one attack which required their supers to be more drawn out, with the possibility of doing more damage than those supers but at greater risk of death before doing anything. Does anyone else feel similarly about the Titan smash changing? I'm kind of disappointed in general with the supers revealed so far. I mean, all three of the Titan supers are a roaming super with a charge ability and two of them can throw things... They're so similar to each other now (this is all assuming that Hammer of Sol returns). Warlocks had the most unique super ability in the game (self-res) replaced by another roaming super that throws things, and although it looks totally badass... Does it's badassary really make up for the awesomeness that was self-res? I'd like to know everyone's thoughts on the matter. I'm sure the majority will be in favor of the roaming supers because they look cool, and Titan mains might be happy with it because there's potential to do even more damage than before with ground smash roaming... I just can't help but feel like it lost its cool-factor with this change.

  • I don't like d2 is doing a lot of stuff right but its also got some huge problems first, roaming supers are cool but its kind of mesh once you realize that all subclass supers became too similar to each other , also having a 3 hit melee is going to be really awkward for close engagements especially when you consider every class has same range , bungee probably did this for balancing but it takes away the point of running different builds I'm probably just going to run 3 seperate warlocks each with their own subclass just cause

    • HoS isn't coming back. Self-res was garbage for garbage players.

    • I think the supers were very unique in D1. -A powerful smash -A defensive Bubble -A powerful throwing super -A powerful gun -A melee only super -A suppressing, slowing, damage boosting field -A massive explosion -A buff to abilities -A hitscan AOE damage The only similar ones were bomb and smash, which weren't even that much the same due to the ranged aspect of bomb. Now in D2: -A roaming charging super -A roaming charging throwing super -A Gun super -A melee super -A single use super -A roaming throwing super Sentinel and poledancer are very similar, striker is only a little different, and dawnblade is just another roaming throwing. Not saying I don't like them, but the uniqueness is gone.

      • I like the FoH change because it reduces the ridiculous range. It also make it more viable in PvE.

      • In PvP striker is a pain when you use bladedancer. Instakill and there is nothing you can do about it

      • Striker in pvp is one thing, but a striker in pve is another. A fist of havoc in most instances is a one shot kill for majors and ads. But it's not really useful for boss fights due to the need to be somewhat close. Also the two other subclasses are much better suited for pve. By giving it some type of roaming capabilities while maybe condensing the AoE they're trying to make it a little more viable for pve activities.

        • A hunter talking that all three Titans supers are roaming super now? Look at Gunslinger, Bladedancer and Nightstalker lol But I agree with you, I really prefer FoH as one big attack that does a lot of damage
