PSA; Transparency from Bungie

_____Here's the thing about Bungie...it operates with an indie or double-A developer mindset with regards to marketing. Now, on paper, it gains them coolness points on the sheer principal that they aren't self-congratulatory and evangelistic about their newest features. But in practice it just means an ill-informed, mostly lost fanbase that gets things poorly explained to them, if at all. They completely omit important things in their reveal events and trailers that're integral to the way the game works, (like the hybrid server system they're going to be using for destiny 2,) while completely hyping up pre-order content or collector's editions. So I guess I might even go so far as to say they have the worst of both worlds. I ducked out for Y1's longest-running DLC drop because I had no idea they were still playing around with the sub-systems of how the game worked. I thought Crota's end was going to define how we used Commendations and how the armor would look from then on because they didn't announce that old armorsets would be unattainable, they didn't announce etheric light to up your light when you weren't wearing all crota gear, and they didn't even admit that there was a problem. _____The way this relates to gameplay and the topic of the post is that no-one expected the drop rates for Armor of Ages to be so low in the Treasure of ages packs. I've spent maybe sixty bucks on it already and I'm well on my way to collecting every flavor of the undeleteable candies from hell and every single emote and sparrow horn before getting even five pieces of any given armor. It wouldn't be so bad if the candies were capable of being deleted, or if I didn't get two in every pack, or if they did something useful like the wax idols or ether seeds, but none of these are the case. But I do have plenty of ornaments, which are nice because if I get duplicates I can crush them into silver dust which leads me to the next point... _____A point that has been waking me up every morning with a feeling of unease. The Triad and Arena engrams. Bungie has never specifically stated what was in the bloody things, they've never allowed us to peak with the triangle/Y button, and so only through trial and grueling error did I learn that none of the secondary armorsets are in the loot pool for those engrams! Not Duskrender, not Vermillion Stripe, not Spearhead (my beloved) not Eclipse Maw. Nowhere did Bungie reveal this bias towards the primary armorsets like Murvaux, Commando, Nerigal Savant, Bog Wild, etc...unless you've been watching the pattern of abject neglect towards the (in my humble opinion) better looking armorsets. If they had said something along the lines of; "it's easier just to reskin the most marketed armorsets, the ones on the boxart of taken king and whatnot, and so you'll never again see Y1 armorsets like Ghost Angel and Spearhead brought to current light levels" I never would have kept hope alive in my heart of hearts of seeing them again. _____So in conclusion, if you think it's too stupid or trivial to announce on Bungie.net, announce it anyway. There are enough people interested in this game that a subsystem your people are working on is of import to someone in the community. Honestly, honesty is the best solution, I'd really rather see it as I'm loading Destiny 2. A "what's new" page should greet us as we log into the game, detailed and expansive. And all because your art lead made the female titan legs too skinny.
