The title says it all. I have looked at many reviews, but critics have been split on both sides. Now, at the end of my wits and Thorn's Exotic Bounty, I want to know if it was worth the many hours playing Crucible and Nightfall.

If they made the dot hit either longer or harder it would be but as of right now it is pretty much a common Hand Cannon that looks like an exotic
-
This is a joke right? A joke? *sees your serious Oh, oh well compared to its time in year 1 it sucks. There are a lot better hand cannons out there.
-
I used to use it a lot but now I have a pretty good Eyasluna. In my opinion it's pretty good. It seems to be super accurate for me.
-
No not anymore. Used to be worst than what it is now too. Used to be an absolute beast in pvp and very good in pve but its a shadow of its own prestige. Out of the 5 exotic hand cannons (non raid) hawkmoon is the best, closely followed by either the last word or the first curse (depending on play style) For me its TFC as it has the ability to two tap on crit low armor players :3
-
Hahaha
-
If your looking for assists.
-
I was doing sweats 1v1s with this chick who was using Thorn and Shinobu's Vow, she would double tap, toss skip grenades, it was annoying as it was unstoppable. You should give it a shot, it makes a great combo.
-
High-skill, high reward gun. If you're good the gun will do well.
-
Edited by Shirtless_Captain_Kirk: 5/15/2017 11:00:01 AMIt's a POS, as it should be.
-
It needs a major range buff
-
yes its OP as -blam!-
-
Yes. It is the strongest High RoF Hand Cannon right now.
-
Like all the exotic quests they were once viable but now not so
-
Garbage
-
If your opponent isn't using the artifact to negate the DOT, maybe; depends on you, them, how good you/they are playing etc. I'd use something else.
-
Go try it out and decide for yourself. Is what real guardians do
-
No. simple as that.
-
High fire rate low impact hand cannons are dead in pvp and pve. Blanket nerfs are great, really effective.....
-
It's great when people want to ape you with sidearm or shotgun. Fires fast enough to gun them down. Other than that high end legendary cannons are far better. But thorn is super fun.
-
Short answer: No. Long answer: RIP my favorite PvE gun :(
-
Before its last nerf, the gun was the most balanced it's ever been. Now it's just a waste of an exotic slot. The burn doesn't do enough damage, but more importantly, the burn doesn't last long enough for you to tell the direction they're headed. I'd be totally fine if the burn did no damage, but it stopped recovery and lasted longer than two seconds. That'd make the exoticness of it feel better. The only thing I feel it's useful for is a Phalanx, because it's pierces their shields.
-
It sucks and it has since the April Update of 2016.
-
Just pick up a good roll Palindrome. It'll save you an exotic slot and outperform thorn. Only get thorn if you want the gun. It isn't good in current PvP meta though.
-
Almost any gun can be "good" in the right hands. Now if the question you ask is if it's META-esque; then no it is not.
-
It's ok

I play a lot of pvp and have been killed by thorn precisely once in y3. It's not worth using anymore sadly. Way too many more reliable options.
