Just throwing this out there; if you come into a raid, and you're an avid trials player, it's probably a good idea to not bring your sweaty, shitty attitude with you. Leave that in your 3v3 mode because no one wants to hear your bitching. Especially when you're not actually helping, and in fact are making life harder for everyone. No one gives a damn about your K/D, your ELO, or how many times you went flawless. If you're not there to help and be of any real use, stay in the Crucible section of the directorate and leave us "low light casuals" to enjoy our gaming experience.
Edit: Before anyone checks stats, the very assholes I'm posting about are the reason I don't do Raids. I play them to get the experience, but it's just not worth the salt to have to see one or two people ruin it by being a douche.
Edit 2: Honestly, I was pissed at one dude, and I shouldn't have lumped PvP guys together. But as I've had people here say, there is no reason to act like a dick to people. I've ran the raid a few times, but I don't deal with bullshit from people that are at least 15+ years younger than me. I'm sure we've all dealt with assholes, and all I wanted to do was vent as I'm sure many of you have. Those that came here to publish K/D, raid #'s, you're what's wrong with not only this community, but gaming in general. If you're just roasting, by all means do so, but when you publish someone else's stats in ridicule, you're officially a sweaty douche.

Ok well I'm a trials player and also a raids player and also I'm very chill. I guess I'm a hybrid.

I enjoy both sides of the game equally. I do, however, prefer to wear all Trials related gear whenever possible (Armor, Ghost, ship, shader AND emblem). I love the whole Space Egyptian theme. That's simply my sense of fashion. Some people run around in ALL Raid gear. Some people run around in ALL Iron Banner Gear. It's simply their preference. And honestly, if I have a whole gear set, I like to wear it (regardless of what it is and where I got it). That said, if I'm going to raid, I'll use the proper/best weapon and class loadout required for that raid/situation. I rarely ever get called out for being an "elitist." Likewise, I never talk down or call out someone while raiding for playing the game differently than I do. However. If you're obviously bringing the team down, I'm gonna say something. I'd imagine anyone does when someone's slacking. It's just how you handle it, I suppose.
I don't deal with bullshit from people that are at least 15+ years younger than me.
I can't see how that is relevant. Old age does not make you more wise, what you say does.
Before anyone checks stats, the very assholes I'm posting about are the reason I don't do Raids. Believe it or not, alot of players share your mindset. Why should you force yourself to play with douches? Seek out players such as yourself. On this forum it's not very difficult. Bottom line, there will always be elitist douches in any (not only gaming) communities. It's up to you to avoid/ignore them. They have as much right to be there as you.

Or... raid with your friends? Do You have any or did this post chase them away?
-
If you want to be a good raid team member just follow these simple rules: 1. Don't make excuses when you screw up. Own it and move on. 2. Don't be a jerk to people that are having issues. Give them helpful advice instead. 3. Have decent gear and don't go into activities underleveled. These are basic rules and I put them in order of importance. To put it more simply don't be an asshole.

Some PVP players have a disgusting attitude, notice how I said some.
-
2300+ trials matches In my group of people considered one of the "senior" Raiders. It doesn't sound like you have a trials problem... it sounds like you play with assholes.
-
Year 2 and 3 players won't know what raids were like till you experienced the "Gjallihorn requirement or be kicked train" days of Destiny. If you didn't have that gun you were most likely to be kicked out of a fireteam. Now days it's "if you don't have the required emblems to prove you beat challenge mode" you will be kicked. What it seems like to me is that people want to finish a raid so they push people to the side hoping to find a "perfect" team.

Eh, I'll offer suggestions in pve but I'm a chill guy. Day one player for life <3

I keep my lfg to a maximum of 2 people. If i dont have me and three of my friends i wont even bother with lfg. Im also conservative with the boot button. But i will boot a rager very quickly.

Sounds like you could benefit from joining a mature/fun group of destiny players. Feel free to check out the community I'm a part of from the link provided below. All our members are 17+ , friendly and fun to game with. If they act like the person you described in your post, they get the boot. Lots of raiding parties will be forming with Age of Triumph. http://rapturegamingcommunity.net/forum.php?referrerid=193

Lol. But there are ass hole pve elitist in raids too.
-
You could replace 'trials players' with 'jack-asses' in your title
-
You don't play raids because of people who play trials? Seems legit
-
The more you know: Elo is a ranking system named after its creator, not an acronym. Only the E should be capitalized.

I agree with you my friend. I am one of those trials players that is rather competitive. (1750, 66 flawless runs) and when I try to do the raid I switch gears to be a raider, but some of my trials friends can't do it, and they get NASTY. Sorry some of the trials community has given you a hard time in raids. If you are interested in playing trials I do help people out free of charge. If you want I can try to help you out:)

I think the bottom line is that anyone can play this game any way they choose (until Bungie decides they don't like the way you play, but that's a different discussion). The trick is to find the people who share your play styles and goals in this game, and play with them. I really think that's how Bungie intended this experience to be, with how they setup socialization. Some people want all business, clean fast raid runs. Nothing wrong with that. Some people want to good around and he more laid back. Nothing wrong with that. It's getting that mix of people, all with different styles and outlooks on the game, that make LFG a terrible experience. This past weekend for me was no different than average. Ran the raid three times on my different characters. One raid got to aksis after several attempts at the vosik challenge , but failed to complete after several attempts. The next raid I randomly got into an lfg raid that was 100% business and we knocked it all out in about an hour. The third raid took 4 hours but got everything accomplished. I had fun in all three raids. You just gotta find the right people to play with to match your style.

If you want mature and relaxed people to raid etc...Join our clan. Or add me and I will help you getting a better experience in this game. Because in the end.... This is a game that we bought to have fun. Sure we have people that play trials. Some of us are quite competitive, but in Pve we're all about helping each other. Sometimes We even do carries with low light players in any aspect of Pve. Together we're stronger Guardians

I certainly wouldn't lump all Trials players into the same bunch, there are some that are fine PvE'rs. But there are those that both play like they're in the crucible(rush right in, die almost immediately, ignore objectives) and wear that stinky elitist cologne. (yeah, take note. Thinking you're better than someone else because you're better at game that doesn't mean a thing in the real world just makes you reek.) I'm older, have kids (and patience to go with it). So I'd take a not-so-good person who's genuinely trying, and spend more time finishing the raid as a result, over someone who won't shut up about how good they are, even if they really are a super star, any day.

I'll drink to this!
-
Sickening how lfg is for this game....
-
I just can't stand those people who are potatoes that get on my team..... 1 kdr in strikes like really dude what are you doing....
-
I take it you had a rotten raid experience with a punk. Was he ragging on all the other players? I can't stand players like that.
-
i personally play both trials and do raids weekly, i have a sweaty part of me, but when im raiding, or chillling with friends, ive learned to have a more chill and relaxed attitude, and ive had a lot of fun redoing the old raids with friends getting ready for moments of triumph. I totally get what your saying about shitty sweaty players, and i feel your pain man
-
I just laugh when people have huge egos because they can camp and sidearm in crucible lol like you think your pro because you're good at a game that doesn't even have a place in the competitive world and is dead hahaha I respect a pro or even a pub stomping call of duty player more than a destiny pleb.
