Halo 2: One Year Later
It's Halo 2's very first birthday. We clebrate by taking a look at GASP Halo and Halo 2 running on Xbox 360, and a bunch of other really cool stuff you'll probably ignore because of 720p screens.

I'm in the same boat as a few people who own HDTVs. My tv does 480p and 1080i, but not 720p. So am I still only going to be able to play it in 480p. That sucks if that's the case.

halo 2 sucks. it's just another money making scheme by large corporations that deprive americans of their intelligence, stamina and mental capacity to succeed in life. i can safely say that the addictveness of this game and video games in general has led to numerous failed exams, countless broken relationships and a total lack of personal hygiene. america is becoming more stupid by the day thanks to pointless artificial intelligence that's only making us dumber. i hope you guys can't sleep at night knowing that you're ruining this country. it's cause of corporations like this that our tech. jobs are being sent overseas to india and asia so some shrimp can get paid 2 bux an hour just so you can earn millions and we the ones who don't have jobs starve. They were taken using Xboxes. Sure, the resolution is higher, that way they look good in print. But all the effects, normal maps, lighting, etc. is all in game effects. Granted, some of the shadows, etc. were from an early build of the game, but it's still in the system. they use a super high-res picture taker.... I've never played halo 2 in high-def, but it should look like that. (its software, not hardware, its like taking a PC screenshot of a game) [Edited on 11/9/2005]

I AM NOT BUYING XBOX 360 UNTIL U GET RID OF THESE CHEATERS. IT IS OUT OF HAND. I DONT CARE ABOUT THE NEW FEATURES OR ANY OF THAT CRAP, PROVE TO ME THAT U CAN GET THE CHEATERS BANNED FROM HALO 2 ON UR FIRST XBOX AND THEN I WILL BUY THE NEW ONE.

im sure thats from the source and not actually what it looks like..... sounds like frankie tried to use the Xbox 360 SDK to take a screen in HD but it didnt, so he got something else to (maybe a HD camera or capture card) and it distorted the image.

Happy B-Day Bungie! As for the HD goodness: Great job, but I am kind of disappointed to see that the screen is still stretched. When you guys hinted at making Halo look better, I thought for sure you would do away with the annoying stretched screen in HD.

It has seemed like such a long year with all that has been going on with the game such as new maps, playlist updates, tweaks to the multiplayer experience, and probalbly the only flaw was the different ways of cheating. However, it also seems knd of like a year that went by fast. It seems like yesterday when about at this very same time, I actually turned off my XBOX after hours and hours of playing Halo 2. I remember I skipped school and played from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. I seriously played NONSTOP for 12 hours and after I was done my eyes were all blurry and I fell in love with the game. In fact, an hour after I stopped playing for the first time, I began playing again. I couldn't put the controller down on that first week. Good, informative post...thanks. The reason I ask is that I have a Samsung DLP that has scaling issues with two known games and Halo 2 happens to be one of them. Even though 480p games require very little scaling, Halo 2 has split second lag on my TV. I just wonder if the internal scaler within the 360 will eliminate this problem.
