Halo 2: One Year Later
It's Halo 2's very first birthday. We clebrate by taking a look at GASP Halo and Halo 2 running on Xbox 360, and a bunch of other really cool stuff you'll probably ignore because of 720p screens.

Frankie: Can we get a comparison with H2 on Xbox 1 running 480P widescreen? (btw the 480p screenshot file is named 480i, while it clearly isn't interlaced) Also, why does the X360 shot look like the normal maps are much less defined and the some of the soldiers belts and accessories are missing.

Bungie, take this as a compliment I never post and yet I"ve played halo 2 about every day for a year (you can tell by my stats) I enjoy this game so much very few games even compare and yet I hate it for all the trash talking all the cheating and when I play other games on live I dont experience any of this BS on halo 2. Don't get me wrong you guys are freaking geniouses in lvl design animation control making the game run so sweet, only a guy with a bad connection could cause lag. All Im asking here is............................... make HALO 3 "Flawless" My expectations are extremly high for you guys. I'm not saying the DVD will be patched (tahts impossible). What Im trying to say is, In halo 2 there is an executable that points to a certain folder that checks for stuff like the auto-updates and the new maps. This is how they update halo 2, and the only way it is possible to change the original executable for the game. Halo 1 did not have this because there was no need for it at the time, this is the reason why (among other things) it was impossible for halo to get to work on xbox live. So what I am wondering is how they are getting 360 to run halo if it the original executable cant be changed? Is it like an emulation or is it something else (sounds like something else if you need specific saves per game to get them to work on the 360).

JUST A TRIBUTE... Recently my xbox broke!! During these days im soo lost without my Halo 2. It brings a tear to my eye to not be able to play the greatest game ever on its aniversary. I have been working hard and saveing up my cash since as long as i can remember. 13 Days. The 360. Ever store that was preselling the 360 has been sold out since 2 months ago. My only chance at a system is my local Bestbuy. They were the only place to not presell. In 12 days I am going to go to Bestbuy camp outside and wait. The first game I will play will not be a 360 game, but Halo 2. Now knowing the additions to the game im looking even more foward to signing on and testing it for myself. Plus I get to rub it in to my friends without one.

Wow, you guys really did a good job putting that togather. The HDTV screenshots look really good. I have heard that Halo:Combat Evolved will be released to the 360 and have LIve enabled to it, is this true? Anyone answer. Oh yeah HAPPY BIRTHDAY HALO 2!

And who says we cant believe in freedom and play video games, I dont fight for video games, I play them, but hey guess we all have our ways of playing games, some consider them real wars I guess though. Also FPS are proven to improve eyesight in picking out things of detail in the distance and identifying them, so if thats rotting my brain, then rot away video game, rot away.

Question on Halo: CE Widescreen. How is this being done? Zoom and Crop a la God Of War? Stretching? Or is the 360 actaully rendering "more" information. I'm guessing the third one would be impossible, but one can hope. Either way, congratulations Bungie. You've made 2 outstanding games.

you can play "online" with halo 1 with xbconnect if you've never used it it trick you rxbox into thinkin that its connected to a LAN when it really connected to internet but you gatto have a routter to use it i think! sumone correct me if im rong. www.xbconnect.com

I have enjoyed all aspects of the Halo gaming experience and feel that all other FPS games pale in almost every aspect. My only disappointment today as I read what was "improved" for the 360, was that all my friends and I had assumed we would finally be able to play campaign co-op via Live. To me, this is the only missing ingredient in making Halo2 damn near perfect...Playing co-op with a buddy who live across the counrty.
