Shotguns themselves aren't the problem...

The reason why shotguns are so overused is because how easy it is to clear gaps between 2 players and also how the maps are structured. I mean for example in Halo multiplayer maps are more open and gunfights weren't happening in CQC. Also movement in Halo was also slower. In Halo it took time to move around the map. In destiny it takes like 10 seconds to get from game start to get to the enemy spawn. How can this be fixed? 1) Larger maps with not so small corridors. 2) How ofter does this happen to you? You see enemy with shotgun he starts running/gliding/jumping towards you while you start shooting at him with your primary and the end result is you are dead and he/she survives with the slightest amount of health. In my opinion fix to this should be some kind of movement penalty if you are being shot multiple times with a primary. For example in that case you wouldnt be able to double jump, glide, or thrust anymore. (This would be like flinch that sniper rifles have, but only for shotguns) This wouldn't make shotguns any worse or make primaries better it would only stop those shotgun rushers. Which is the real problem Sorry for long text and for any spelling mistakes. And thanks for reading. What are your opinions?

  • Then it would become a amatuer sniper game for people who fail at battlefield and sniper elite. Every map should have open areas for snipers but also CQC areas. What would be interesting is to see a game mode where your health doesn't regen at all. At least if you get 3 hits at a rusher they'll only be a one shot kill.
