Ghost Angel: How Rank-up Packages Destroyed My Marriage
The very first day of Rise of Iron, my wife and I each jumped on to check out all the new DLC goodies. We had edged some rep, so with her very first Vanguard rank-up package, she got what is arguably the coolest Hunter cloak in the game: Ghost Angel. Needless to say, I was super jealous, and so I committed myself to get on my own Hunter and grind away for it myself.
3 months later… no Ghost Angel.
I decided to give up on Vanguard rep and throw myself into Crucible instead to grind for Shax's counterpart cloak, the H_LD Starwinder. They are, after all, essentially the same thing, even if "Ghost Angel" is a cooler name.
But here we are 3+ weeks into the PvP grind (I'm talking several hours per day, every day), and as I'm sure you've guessed, I am still not the owner of a Starwinder cloak.
So yesterday, my wife decided to get back on Destiny after a 2-ish month hiatus. Iron Banner and all. Oh I bet you can guess where this is going. Yup. Her first rank-up package: H_LD Starwinder.
At this point, I really don't see any option but to file for divorce.
EDIT: I feel like Bungie should spring for the lawyer.
EDIT 2: I'm adding Cozmo and Deej in the tags, cause you never know when they (really just Cozmo, but I don't want Deej to feel left out) might randomly reply to a (somewhat) #satire post like this. That'd be pretty cool/funny.
EDIT 3: I wouldn't have thought this was a necessary disclaimer, but the divorce part is pure satire. Some people seem genuinely concerned about it lol.
