You'd be surprised on how often it happens, i started carrying, Suros Regime, Invective, and various side arms because of how often it happens during missions, strikes, raids etc.

Because over the years the game seems desperately inclined to sometimes drop nothing but green ammo packs. This was especially true when Ice Breaker was equipped.

Have you tried using Hawkmoon? Or pretty much any hand cannon for an extended period, as an actual primary? Also, during the raid, I frequently run out of ammo for Outbreak Prime, since I'm using it for adds and boss dps.
