My internet makes me worry about their Quitter Ban/tracker. Any time anyone calls my house phone, it drops the internet connection. This doesn't happen frequently enough to become a serious problem, but I still worry. I should possibly open a thread about it...

Im going to have to agree with most of these people saying that this "ban program" will cause problems for those of us who get called by parents, wife, husband, etc. to do something for them really quickly. Wouldn't it be the wiser thing to do to just quit out of the game instead of standing there being free kills for the enemy team? And also if one of your friends gets on and you just "have to play with them" would you get "punished" for wanting to play with your friend and quitting out of a game to join them?

I really do think that this is going in the right direction, however I know 'personally that sometimes people end up quitting due to other matters, like being called by parents and is this situation happens to occur multiple times in one day, then do they get punished? I would just like that to be clarified

Sounds like a lot of nice improvements. The flag walking bit is, admittedly, something of a shock but much appreciated. And the quitter thing.... well, I just might cry. It's like the end of a Nightmare on Elm Street film where Freddy gets pulled out of the dream and iced good. Hopefully they'll put their quitting tendencies to good use after they realize they can only join one game every half hour, and put down Halo forever.

awesome fixes Bungie! tho to be honest the only thing I've really noticed were the faint crosshairs (noticeable when I was firing the magnum at some jetpacker in the air...just sorta guess aimed lol)

well urk...we have some indepth knowledge of the banhammer when it comes to quitters...how about the lewzers that decide to raid momma and daddies bank account on ebay for one of those fancy lil' modded controlers?...is there any way for bungie and or the banhammer to identify when a rapid fire controler is activated and i dunno like disconnect them from the world of the living?

Ah! That "Quitter Ban" sounds effin' sweet! I like the punishments ideas for people that team kill because they "didn't get the sniper." That is an awesome idea.

It is my sincerest hope that all multiplayer developers follow suit and implement these kind of countermeasures. We could finally see an end to quitting.

Very glad that they are doing something for when your team quits. In Halo 3 I always 1Vs4 and it got old real quick. Little nervous about the new banhammer though cuz I get disconnected semi-semi-frequently.

Effin great update. I read all the way through. Quitters must die, good for us players. I hate to ask after that, but sometimes i just have quit to join up with a buddy who jumps on and sends an invite and i can't wait to play with. How many times before you would drop on someone for that?

Thank god Bungie is going to do something about the quitters, although it seems way overdue. I guess better late than never. Swing, you beautiful banhammer, Swing!!

Awesome update - very informative! I am just worried that there will be too much nerfing. I don't want to see anything turn into the next trip mine. Overall, the balance of weapons is pretty solid - I trust Bungie to keep it fun and balanced for Fall.

In other words, when beta is up in a week or so, we'll have had our fun, and everything will be nerfed for the retail version. It seems almost absurd to think they're going to ban people for quiting games, people that quit to derank is understandable, but people who quit occasionally because they aren't having fun is complete ludicrous, i really hope you are going to be distinguishing effectively. Seeing as rank and xp are alot different this time around than in Halo 3, it seems there is virtually no reason for someone to quit, even the competitive players. Such a system seems almost draconian. And to think habitual quitters can be completely avoided by designing multiplayer around server based gameplay, yet you continue to bludgeon this decaying caballus carcass aka the matchmaking concept.

You guys at bungie should put a setting in Reach so you can lower the game volume. It is a little hard to hear my friends talking from my headset since it uses the tv's audio output. Being able to lower the game volume will make it easier for not only me but many other players with headsets to hear people talk.

Nice update, it's good to see so many things I was worried about are getting worked on. I still think Armor Lock needs some work of some type, and I really hate the fact the people can deflect swords now, but maybe it will be a little different when they can't double melee for a quick block and kill. Keep up the good work Bungie, Invasion is very impressive so far.

I knew most of the strange occurrences I noticed while playing, Bungie had already noticed beforehand. These guys are good. And I KNOW Reach is gonna be a damn good game. Thanks for the update, and thanks for letting us in on the development process.
