Since the Rise of Iron DLC delves into nostalgia. I fell compelled to share a bit of my own. So here's a little story (it's a bit lengthy) about a strange thing that happened back in year one.
Around the time between Vanilla and The Dark Below, I purchased the first official soundtrack to Destiny. I had gotten it off of Amazon (I feel that is an important detail for the story). A very exciting thing for me as I had already fallen in love with some of the tracks and wanted to play them anytime during the game. This was the time I was playing on the Xbox 360 as well. The 360 had a pre-installed music player (IMO one of the best features the 360 ever had) that I was already using for other music.
I wasted no time getting the music in a thumb drive and shove it into my console. The first track I listened to was "End of the Line". I was pretty happy with everything. The music worked well as I played. When it began repeating the track........ it didn't exactly sound the same the second time around. In fact, it sounded like a completely different song! I was surprised as well as disappointed. I tried other tracks, but they all did the same thing! I thought there was somehow a secret album in the files I had downloaded. I realized later that this was the soundtrack, but was being played slower and at a lower pitch!
A marvelous discovery, as the music sounds awesome this way, giving it a gloomy and somber tone. Unfortunately I couldn't replicate it on any other device that I had. And so I sat with this knowledge for two years. When the recent DLC came to light, I felt determined to make this music known. I bought the necessary equipment, and am currently working on recording and making a video for every single track. I am calling this new music the "Dark Renditions".
As of this post, there should be three on my YouTube channel now. Just type my gamer tag in the search bar and you should find it. I will try to post up to three videos every other day until the entire album is out. If you like the music, please let as many people know as possible. No need to subscribe. It's been too long since I found this out, and I am excited to be doing this. If there is enough demand - and if Bungie is cool with - I will be more than happy to release the music in an mp3 format........ for free of course.
