Guys im sorry i hate to start a thread this way but please don't forget to Bump and vote Thank you, you are amazing! :D Hello everyone! I wanted to do this thread for a long time and to do so I spent about a week writing ideas that popped in my mind, I don't want to give destiny a drastic change or anything like that, and i want to say this is merely my opinion and that you should feel free to add any ideas of your own, and please disagree with me if you feel like any of the ideas i posted should not be part of Destiny. Before starting I just wanted to say that Im a year 1 week 1 player, and that I might use references, to give further evidence of my points, Which you might not be very familiar with if you are fairly new. 1. Patrol In Destiny we have seen one of the most glorious map design ever! Amazing raids, level design and art, needles to say Destiny has a beautiful environment but.. Probably The only reason you might have gone patrolling is because you have to complete a bounty that requires you to do some kind of patrol or if you where going to the new Archon Forge or in order to farm materials, But really thats probably it.. I would like to do more stuff on patrol, I know we have the casual events but that really isn't very rewarding, I would like to have a bigger motivation, something that I would want to do when there is nothing left to do, when i have completed my weeklies, and raid. Perhaps random events not where you simply have to kill someone but real events, things that happen randomly really randomly, for example having a real battle with some kind of unique boss that would look like came right out of the raid.. 2. Loot Yes... I know the loot system has changed a lot, like a lot! and it has improved however im just gonna emphasis what 90% of the players think.. SO MUCH RNG. I remember the sweet day the reef came to Destiny along With PoE, in the very firsts days of these update you actually had to grind for keys if you wanted to receive the sweet loot from this activity, It was ridiculous the amount of time i spent farming this keys, and at the end Bungie realized that in deed they were pretty rare, probably rarer than legendaries or even exotics (because at that time if you did the nightfall you had a guaranteed exotic). And once that was clear they said okay we need to solve this.. they removed the key, and honestly it keeps happening now a days with this new skeleton keys, they pretty rare probably not as rare but still, you have to spend HOURS and HOURS to get a key and get the loot you want, and I think that that Bungie make things probably a bit to rare.. And most of the times its by mistake, they actually never intended to make this keys so rare thats why they buffed the chances of getting one. Now I want to clear out that Improving RNG is NOT a synonym of making exotic drop more often, in fact I would like to reduce the amount of exotics we get (not nerf 3 of coins) but instead make exotics more exotics.. anyways. Now is when I contribute with my idea, even tho Bungie is already starting to implement it.. QUESTS! they are doing it with the new artifacts and you can gain 1 key with an initial quest. But thats it.. I would like to see this mechanic being implemented more often, or at least if bungie knows that something is rare, give them as a weekly reward from doing the Nightfall or in the 3 weeklies! Its just too random, we want to know that we are gonna gain something from doing a Strike, something other than blues or greens...! Also an slight Improved on Siva offering as a Wishlist for the current Destiny won't do any harm, they are not rare because they can drop from pretty much anyone but thats the thing They DO NOT drop and thats 1 of the various reasons of why the Archons forge is mostly lonely. 3. Matchmaking No, Im not gonna ask for a raid matchmake because you might end-up with a 6 warlock team or people with different languages and probably even trolls that leave the fire team as quick as they join, I know LFG isn't a perfect system but its a system and It kind of works.. But matchmaking for things like Archons Forge, seriously most of the times thats a desert, The way it should work in my opinion is the following, You go to patrol, decide to go to the archons forge and when you enter the zone, you join a lobby where someone else is at that moment.. In Destiny 2 I would like to have something like that, specific places with specific loot, places where you know that you are gonna be able to Join and play with more people! Im gonna go ahead and say that the social aspect of Destiny isn't very developed, as an RPG player I would love to see more social aspects of the game being implementes I apologize but I don't have a solid idea for this, just improve the social aspect in general. BUT AS I SAID FEEL FREE TO TELL ME YOUR OPINION & improvements you would want to see. Also manypeopke are saying Desicated servers, but i cant add another poll so ye.. Im going to add a POLL so that you can vote which one of this points i the most important one! -HAVE A NICE DAY :D

  • 1. Crucible/Vanguard gear that pertains specifically to their archetype. Crucible should have crucible oriented perked 100% of the time and vice versa. 2. Fine tuning weapons, not a quick nerf or buff to one extreme. 3. No one hit melees. And if there are, please don't complain about warlock melee reach. 4. Gear set bonuses. Raid set/general set gear should have bonuses when in unison with other pieces I.e. Dream Eater gear from Archon's Forge should grant bonus agility and slight recovery boost in Archon's Forge or after fallen kills. 5. The most important to me: instant menu loadup. If I need to switch gear in trials in a pinch. I shouldn't need to wait for the game to first load up my screen, followed by the gear load time. 6. Pause menu hot keys/hot swap. With only a few buttons being used on the pause menu it frees up buttons to be mapped as hot keys to quickly switch to a certain preassigned loadout. I.e. left d-pad I can switch to Bladedancer, TLW, 1000 yard. 7. Do. Not. Make. Me. Create. A. New. Character. In. The. Sequel.

  • I want a bigger quantity of story missions, quest, and strikes. More boss encounters, more enemy races, like a Egyptian Anubis enemy, or more unique enemies for the current factions. More Guardian factions too.

    • For me.... 1. 60fps 2. Dedicated servers 3. More in depth skill trees 4. More customisation of gear appearance 5. More classes maybe a dedicated medic support class 6. Ship combat and ship housing/customisation of that ship interior 7. Larger alien worlds that are fully connected and explorable with wild creatures roaming. 8. More varied/customisable vehicles to explore the world 9. RNG is fine as is. Just make exotic quests rewarding and difficult to complete for the best exotics only

            • More secret areas with bosses guarding a loot chest, like the boss on dreadnaught which was too easy... and the servitor on plague lands which once again too easy, but if you added objectives before actually being able to fight the boss this would be so much better and ofcourse make the bosses harder Archons forge could have been so much better if they had real matchmaking for it

            • I hope free roam gets some more love. Its the best part of game. And I do enjoy going around and looking off in the distance. Patrols need to go. Factions should get bountys. Some weekly. And maybe a monthly that takes a few weeks to do. The wars are fun to be a part of as is the publics. So more of them. And killing enemy bounties should be unlimited with experience gains only. But yes free roam is underplayed and is the most fun. Just wish it had more of a luster

            • My biggest wish is that they separate pvp and pve weapons balancing. The way it is now they don't give a -blam!-ing shit about how a weapon performs in pve as long as it fits their pvp meta. I know pvp players don't want the crucible spoiled by stupidly powerful weapons, and I agree with that, but pve shouldn't be spoiled just so crucible can be balanced either.

A lot of what I'm adding isn't in your poll, but I think these are things that should be added to D2, and is basically my own wishlist. Open Patrol: Destiny needs to feel more open, the patrol areas need to be a more integral part of the game, even for endgame. Larger more open areas, change patrol missions into quests that feel more interactive and that other people can join in (not just public events, although those should still be a thing too). Have patrol missions be things that can just happen, like a caravan that needs an escort or an enemy convoy that you can attack. Settlements Patrol should have settlements/cities/communities to make it feel a bit more alive. We know that vanguard/factions have a presence on planets as the patrol missions we currently have get us to clear areas for scouting etc. Then these settlements we can visit and do other quests for. These are also places that can be attacked by the enemy so that you can defend it. If the enemy takes it over, then you gotta take it back from them. Enemy settlements should also be a thing. We see the fallen and hive on earth but they don't really have a base or settlement there, they're just kind of... there. Assaulting enemy settlements could also be an event. Large Public Events/World Bosses We already sort of have this kind of thing in Patrol, but it should be expanded upon. As of now we have small boss events like the fallen walker and the taken events. The taken events (as much as I hate the taken) are a good play on the idea, it's an event where people in patrol have to work together to spawn a boss, however there's pretty much no loot and no incentive to do so. I propose more large scale world bosses that are a special public event. LARGE groups of players could come together to fight these bosses together and the bosses would all drop endgame tier loot. Regular Public Events: Regular public events should be far more frequent even if there are a lot of smaller ones. Small Dungeons/Raids One thing I've seen in other games that I haven't seen in Destiny is small scale dungeons/raids. Imagine you're in patrol and you stumble across an area that's like a mini vault of glass full of puzzles and special enemies, and you're able to go through it on your own or bring a small fireteam along to help out. Not strikes, but basically mini raids that are kind of just there in the world for you to explore. Weapon Crafting I'm not sure how this would work, but we already have weapon parts materials, there are many different archetypes for guns, different standard bodies, sights, colors etc. I think it's about time we REALLY become legend and be able to craft our own weapons. It could be another reason for materials to exist and give them a use besides upgrading/faction rep. Certain materials could give you a better chance at certain rolls on your base weapon etc. Elemental cores could be added to infuse your element of choice (primary/speical and heavy). You can choose the weapon sights you have available etc. etc. I think it would just be a better way to make your guardian yours instead of always having to go pre-made gear. I don't want to be the 100th person someone see's with grasp of malok or something like that. Transmog/Wardrobe System This is something that should have been in Destiny a long time ago and would have solved a lot of problem as far as some old gear is concerned. There is always old and new gear people want to wear, they want the best aesthetic feel and want their guardian to look just so. There is A LOT of interesting looking gear in Destiny, much of that gear is stuck in the blue category and even more of the legendaries are stuck unable to be infused to current light levels. A transmog or wardrobe system would fix all of that, want to wear VoG gear? No problem, just take the VoG skin and put it over your current high level gear. The VoG skin adopts the stats of the gear you put it on. Not sure if it would be beneficial for guns or not (probably not), but armor is a no brainer, this NEEDS to be in Destiny 2! This is NOT the same as ornaments by the way. Only specific armor/weapons have an ornament slot currently, and they can only have specific ornaments, putting over a skin from any other item is completely different, just wanted to lay that out just in case. Raid Lobbies This is a fairly simple concept... It's sort of like in game LFG but think of them as custom servers like you would see in Battlefield 4. You can go into a server browser and check out games people have open. Each game as their own set of parameters set by the host. I imagine raid lobbies to be the same. The host has to ability to set any pre-requisites and requirements for players to join their lobby (light level, mics req, classes etc.). The host also has the ability to kick players of course, or could put in a voting system. In any case, I think this would make it easier to keep players in the game and make it easier to find groups to raid with. The host should also be able to interact with and modify the lobby when in game in case a player leaves or gets kicked. The host can then re-open the lobby while they're in the raid and set the pre-requisits for the kind of player they need to continue the raid. Someone looking can then see a raid 5/6 people and join in. In Game Grimoire The lore from the grimoire needs to be put in the game in some shape or form. It keeps players in the universe and makes the world feel that much more alive. Destiny in it's current state feels separated from it's lore, things don't feel like they've happened in the games world because you don't find the history/lore in the games world. You find dead ghosts that say "There's something, but go find it on the website". If you want Destiny to grab players attention more, put the grimoire in the game. Players should never have to leave the game for that sort of thing. No Gated Content Gated content is the thing I absolutely hate most about Destiny. Gating players from making progress guaranteeing that they'll never be allowed to play at their own pace. Obviously I think things like a weekly event or something is a good thing to have, but currently everything is revolving around a weekly reset. This is a problem, and old content is never updated to reflect new changes and give a better quality of life to the game. Queens Wrath is a good example as you can literally only earn so much rep in a week and then you just have to give up and wait, that's not fun. Only being able to raid once a week, although I understand, it's still gating progress. I get you don't want players to get all the raid gear in one day, but I think ultimately that should be the decision of the player. Main thing is, I'm sick of trying to rank up certain factions like Queens Wrath, Crota's Bane and the Gunsmith only to have my progress halted either or be made so painfully slow that it's not near worth the effort. Every Piece of Content Should Remain Relevant It shouldn't matter what activity me or my friends choose to do. Everything in the endgame should remain an option for the endgame. Vault of Glass/Crotas End for example should have been a relevant activity. Destiny 1 wasn't designed around this thinking, but I think Destiny 2 should be. Constant Quest/Event Updates One way to make the Destiny universe feel much more alive is to have constant events or questlines happening in the game. These don't have to be super detailed and robust, but there should always be something to do and there should always be a story to tell. Queens Wrath waaaay back at the beginning of Destiny was kind of a good example, the wolf patrols in HoW etc. These are good examples of small changes that could happen every week or every couple of weeks to make the world feel like it's living and in constant change. Special bounties that appear every day for 1 week for hunting down specific targets or different threats that result in small special events. It's the little things like this that can bring a large quality of life to the game. I have a lot more to say, but I think I should cut myself off before I write an entire novel on the subject. As a reference point, Guild Wars 2 does a lot of these things, which is what I always bring up when talking about this because I firmly believe they have the right formula for a game like this.
