Brothers of Light and Dark, do you think this is true?
Xur and the Speaker are brothers.
A sentence made of gibberish was made into
"They are vulnerable now, good. We are brothers of light one of dark. Brother, we had a fight once, but we need each other more than ever now."
The speaker has said that he has a brother. So who is the one of dark?
XUR. They both know the Nine. They both are always mysterious, and cryptic. Also they both never show there face(kinda). So maybe they are brothers maybe they are not. However, for some reason though. I feel that they have both Become Legend.

Xûr is basically Frankenstein down to the cellular level. I don't think that he and the Speaker are related.

If you also take into account the rumor and theory that the next game, Destiny 2, is said to revolve around tracking down and finding Osiris, then this makes a ton of sense. also to entice this theory this very much means the possibility of the return and revamp of a Vault of Glass raid... on the down side as Osiris dabbled in time travel and vex tech this could mean that a time paradox(infinity loop) could be instilled into the story line of the game... which could mean soooo much re-skinning of the previous game... but also a chance the replay certain stories where you see things from an entirely mindbending point of view. just a theory but Osiris is said to be seen in multiple places at one time... look back at Kabr and the flavor text of his armor and grimoire and this makes a great example of what kind of paradoxical mindbending(VEXing) concepts bungie could very easily incorporate into the game. Shaxx is said to meet with a group of warlocks without shadows...all could be Osiris all at once...or another theory his followers(7 Seraphs) who could also be the ones responsible for reactivating Rasputin. again tons of speculation, but certainly fun to theorize and guess at.

What if the speaker is literally just made up of Ghosts and that's why he understands the traveler better than anyone? I still believe he's evil too. Talk about the absolute worst endgame boss fight ever. Just endless respawning for him.

Considering that Xur is a mythical god of the undead, (can not remember which pantheon or namebut the description was right on when I looked it up) I doubt the speaker is his brother

Osiris is the dark brother daring, Xur is a creature formed from dead cells, not unlike Guardians, but under the nine's power

He could be referring to Osiris in that sense. He says 'Brother', but he could mean it in the monastic sense (like monks would). But yes, Xûr is likely a Nine-ified human and brother of the Speaker, along with Osiris.

After so many crackpot theories here, this one eerily makes a ton of sense...it would explain certain loopholes in the story
