Prolonged Exclusivity Period - Dear Bungie: An open letter pleading for transparency and an official statement

Dear Bungie, I'm not angry, I'm not even that bothered about the exclusive PS4 content deal. Since playing Destiny on Xbox since the beta back in 2014 I have become accustomed to having to wait for some guns, PVP maps and the odd strike or two. What leaves a sour taste in my mouth at the moment isn't that I'll miss out on content but more so that the previous info of the Taken King PS4 exclusivity period originally being "at least until Fall 2016" now becoming "at least until Fall 2017". Yes I read the other bit of small print that said that this could be subject to change. That's all 100% fine by me. What actually leaves the afore mentioned sour taste is the lack of an honest explanation as to why this period of time has effectively doubled. I can make a reasonable assumption and I imagine contractual obligations are part of it and TTK was expected to run until Fall 2016 and the next big leap was due. You've been open enough to say to Game Informer that Destiny 2 has been pushed back and I think it was Activision who said that the majority of the team at Bungie are now focused on the sequel. That makes sense and my powers of assumption would make the leap between the exclusivity period being linked to Destiny 2's launch date. I might be wrong but you're not currently allowing me the luxury of completely understand so I've got no option other than to speculate. Last night I watched the latest Game Informer video where they interviewed Chris Barrett and Scott Taylor. Towards the end of the video they were asked directly about the extension of the exclusivity period for the TTK PS4 exclusive content. Now in my career I've had plenty of opportunity to see someone try and blag an answer because either a) they don't know the answer or b) they've been told not to talk about in detail and so nervously gloss over the subject when it's raised. My sympathy goes out to those two because they were obviously put under pressure to address an issue that they weren't equipped to address. The biggest reveal of that conversation though is at around 50:46 into the video Chris Barrett looks up at the person supervising this interview and then he does that "slow-blink" thing that we all do when we're not happy and trying not to show it. You know that "I don't like this situation but I can't do anything about it" kinda feeling or the "I can't believe that I'm being stitched up on camera like this" kind of expression. Look for it, you'll see the expression I'm talking about. So, what should Bungie do? Well first of all, you're not going to make anyone happy regardless of what you say. The news is that Xbox players are just going to have to wait another 12 months or more before we get to play with the Jade Rabbit. So it's not about making anyone happy, it's about being able to deliver bad news in a way that is respectful and shows understanding for how people on the "wrong console" might feel given the bad news. Smiling at the idea of people being unhappy (like Mr Barrett nervously did on that video) isn't the right approach. Be honest with us. It's that easy. Really. We won't like the bad news but we will will respect your integrity and transparency. Currently you're being cowardly and that is without integrity and disrespectful towards this side of your community. To quote the Internet... "Bungie. Please." Pretty please? With a Cherry on top? We won't bite. Most of us won't bite Some of us won't bite I will not bite a Bungie employee. Promise
