Harrassed by a Hacker

A few weeks ago someone in my friend's stream started playing with us and let it slip that he pays for a program he uses to DOS other players. We told him to stop and he swore he was just kidding but every few matches either someone on our team or the enemies team would somehow lag out. When I say our team I don't mean myself in the fireteam, but I was in the party chat and moderating my friend's stream at the time. Because of how frequently someone would lag out and the length of time it would take for their modem to start working again, we started to suspect he was still using his program so I went ahead and banned him from the stream. Now he's creating new twitch names and showing back up into the stream, threatening to keep my friend offline if he doesn't get unbanned. I've sent a report to Bungie twice, one with 3 post game carnage reports of his most recent games where someone on the enemy's team mysteriously lags out (this happens every 5 or so games) and another with this message unedited, though his ID is now changed as he had to create another account to enter the stream. Is there anything else I can do to make sure this gets seen by Bungie? Will they be able to correlate the two reports or will they seem like two different incidents since the GT is different? Should I also report this to PlayStation? The other day he sent a message with a link to our friend (I'm assuming to gain his IP address) then kept him lagged out for about an hour. This harassment is going to continue if someone from Bungie or PSN doesn't step in to help.

You need to report him on Twitch on each account. They can ban him from being able to create new accounts. Your friend can get a new IP address pretty easily. And tell your friend to start using a VPN. He won't get taken offline that way unless that person legit knows what they're doing. But considering they just bought a program, it's not likely they do.

    • Report him to everyone. Twitch, Sony, Bungie and the Girl Scouts.

      • If your friend gets DOS'd he should contact his ISP, and the police if the harassment continues. Bungie cant stop him DOSing. Only ISPs and the police can do that.

      • Have you brought this up to Twitch or Sony? Have you contacted your ISP? DOS is a serious threat and should be reported to both Sony (since it's being done across their network services) as well as to your ISP (also being conducted across their network). Posting it in a game forum doesn't really do anything- especially if the threats were made over a different service.
