Koreans win everything.
The last three Evo's have just been Asian top 8's.
I miss the diversity. MK was pretty varied at least.

IIRC, Americans won MK, Marvel and Smash Melee, and a Canadian won Smash 4. Asian players didn't dominate everything

Wasn't one of the winners of MvC that dude that spammed the shit out of Morrigans fireball from both sides with the clone?
-
Yes, that's him
-
I didn't like his playstyle but hell it worked and I'm surprised he could keep that up for so long without messing it up but man it was so disappointing to see one of the few american players I've seen do nothing but throwing fireballs at the tournament.
-
I didn't catch Smash. But you're right, I forgot about MvC. I already knew about MK, but look at TEKKEN, SF or Guilty Gear over the past few years. They are becoming less diverse. I mean, it's nobody's fault. It's just happening.

Hey, SF's still definitely got top players that aren't from Asia. Sure, they didn't make it into top 8 at EVO, but neither did a lot of Asian players that were favoured to also. No Justin and no Daigo... crazy stuff x)

Edited by Psyntifik: 7/18/2016 4:27:29 PMAlso really bugs me that, TEKKEN isn't treated the same. Okay, so it doesn't bring in 5k players and 100k viewers, but it's sad that it always seems like they rush it out of the way and avoid the main stage. One of the reasons I like Final Round so much.

Edited by RH Stealth: 7/18/2016 4:33:47 PMIt's not like Tekken was the only game that didn't get the main stage at Mandalay Bay. And Tekken had more entrants than Killer Instinct. It's the most popular 3D fighting game, and it's only going to get bigger. Tekken 7 is more beginner friendly, has a guest character from the biggest fighting game series, is releasing on a lot of platforms, and they got to show trailers at Street Fighter's show!

and they still don't have Lei Wulong. So -blam!- them. :(
