I was about 11 or 12 at a friends house. I didn't have an xbox yet so I was really excited every time I went over because I knew we'd play Halo!. The good memories are still there though. You?
EDIT: Don't forget to tell of the first experience or memories!

Eleven. Halo had been out for about 4 years by that time, however. Halo 2 was already out too, it had come out about nearly a year ago and was still insanely popular so I was always wanting Halo 2...

wayyy back in 2002, i had heard my friend (who was the only looser back then with a xbox, lol) had this awesome game called halo, soon after going over to his house, we played that game for a solid 12 hours, and continued all that summer to have lan battles.

I was ethier 5 or 6 when I played Halo. I don't remember which one it was ethier Halo 1 or 2 or maybe both of them. I just wished I saved my money and bought H1 and H2 from bestbuy :'(

I got my first taste of Halo back in 2003 when I got my first Xbox. Considering that was 8 years ago, I would have been 10. I'll admit the Flood did freak me out at first, I almost didn't want to play the game afterwards. Now it easily one of my favorite levels.

I was either 16 or 17. At the time, I was only interested in Racing games (F1, Gran Turismo), and the GTA's (3 had recently come out). I'd started playing something alien (excuse the pun) to me at the time, called a First Person Shooter, Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force for the PS2. As I loved Star Trek, I didn't mind it, but it wasn't really my thing. My idea of an FPS at the time was doom/quake/duke nukem, and I really wasn't interested in playing them. When the Xbox came out, my best mate bought it to play the new Oddworld game. He also bought SegaGT and this game called Halo. The first time I played it, I had a go of SegaGT, and thought it was rubbish, so my opinion of the Xbox was lowered as a result. The next time I went over, he had a demo disc which had Moto GP on it. I had a go of that, and loved it, but I wasn't going to buy the Xbox for just the one game. He then suggested I have a go of Halo, as he knew I'd been playing Elite Force. I wasn't really too keen because I thought it'll probably just be mindless killing etc, just like Doom. However, I had a go of Assault on the Control Room, and it wasn't bad. Nice graphics, not dark and sepia like the others. Then, due to where his save-point was, I stepped out onto the rock bridge in the final area, and I was flawed. He got into a Banshee for me, and handed back the controls. I found them completely alien at first, took me about 40 minutes to get the hang of it (reverting to save etc), but that was it, I was hooked. Then, the feature that got me to go out and buy an Xbox the very next day, co-op. Absolutely glorious. Something that seems so basic in games now, sitting in a friends car while he drives, was literally orgasmic to me back then. Glorious.

i kinda did it in 3 attempts, first attempt: i was 6 years old, i was at a friends house and he asked me if i wanted to play a game named:'halo' so i said ok, but then his mother came in and she didn't wanted us to play war games because their was enough war in real life in Iraq second attempt: when i was 8, my grandmother bought a game for me named, halo 2. i didn't remember that it was the second halo game, because i din't really knew halo. so i played till the part when the flood appeared and i was scared and i din't play it until i was 13 third attempt: when i was 13 my mom bought me a game named halo 3 and i kinda remembered the name but i wasn't sure, i really liked the game allot and before i knew i was addicted about the halo universe, i searched the internet for days until i finaly discovered Halo Pedian and from then i sold my life for Halo it took me 7 years before i eventually liked halo ^^ so actually if you Americans din't attack Iraq i would have know halo allot earlier -no offense USA-
