Straight up, RIP strikers
Strikers are screwed. And seeing the nerf kids get their way, over and over again saddens me. I only play as a hunter and will never stray, but taking a sub class and neutering it is terrible. And will never fill me with any joy. I don't think firebolts burn times were op, that was kinda the point. Minus one for recovery for blinkers is uncalled for. Should've left trip mines alone. Shade step and smoke grenades were fine too. And the sun breakers super had to be ridiculous considering how crappy their neutral was (was/is, no offense).
So let's look at shoulder charge. Seems like you gotta wind it up and aim. High risk high reward, going through with it puts the striker in a pretty bad spot. Why nerf it? Wtf is gonna get nerfed after that?
Man if these forums didn't exist I think destiny would be such a different game today.
We can sit here and talk about balance all day and I'll here you out. But each sub class has its strengths and weaknesses. Why put everyone on such level ground? 1) it's impossible and if you do manage to get it close some how 2) what would we be left with?
Our exotic weapons aren't even exotic anymore because of the vast majority who cry nerf.
Sorry for the rant, I just can't muster the words that can describe how much I hate all of u that cry nerf. You guys ruin so much for so many people. Shame on you.
Bungie can we just vote on all buffs and nerfs from now on please?

9 RepliesI honestly think the Jugg shield is more broken than Shoulder Charge. It eats so much damage and then boom shotty to the face. I ran my Titan last night just to confirm this, and man that was fun. The real "tank class" right there

2 RepliesIt's sad when a subclass gets nerfed when it wasn't actually that OP. I used to main Gunslinger in PvP but i just feel so weak and pathetic trying to use it's abilities now. It's 3 shots that actually take a bit of skill to land them all, and it feels easily outclassed by 7 easy to use OHK splash damage hammers. It's melee is unsatisfying to use as at doesn't function as the risk/ skill - reward it is meant to be. Multiple other classes have OHK sticky semi-tracking nades (albeit that don't stick to the environment) that weren't nerfed. I don't want striker to fall. It feels like what all subclasses should feel like. Decently powerful with a few standout abilities. Buff the other classes.

8 RepliesTo be fair, titans are only digging up their own grave. Thinking all high and mighty and making posts about only using shoulder charge in IB to make hunters salty. To every nerf bungie makes they have stats to back it up (doesn't mean it's OP) there is going to be that spike in shoulder charge usage and its going to get nerfed. Don't try blaming it on others when it happens.

Just wait! After all the other subclass nerfs, Strikers are now at the top of the nerf pile. So if you're a striker main prepare yourself for disappointment and severe anal pounding.

1 ReplyI can't count the times that my shoulder charge hit detection is off and no damage is inflicted. It happens like crazy. Way more than errant hit detection with blink strikes and throwing knives. And the times I hit someone and they go flying but no damage is inflicted (where hit detection registers but no damage occurs) is almost as bad. If the damage for shoulder charge is going to be nerfed so it isn't a 1 hit kill, at least they need to cure/fix the hit detection issues first... Give a Striker some love here...

This is more to everyone else than it is to the OP: I started playing this game a few weeks before TTK, so all in all am not the most familiar with the history of the classes first year. And easily the class that sticks out ad my most hated opponent, again and again, is the Striker. Their super has the power of a nova bomb but MUCH faster to pull off, combined with an indestructible guardian when they trigger it i.e. Fist of Panic. I've stuck a fusion on Titan before his super once, then he triggered it and I stuck him with a second one mid hulk smash, thinking at least I'll take the cocksucker with me, only to have him teabagging my orb a second later. And y'all bitch about sunsingers having two fusions grenades (which the Titan also can have. Imagine that). Speaking of, I've been killed far more times with a lightening grenade than a fusion grenade. Reason being, very few people use fusions. You have to be at least moderately precise with them, which makes them largely unpopular. But they do one shot everybody but strikers, so I love them. Literally the only strength left to the Sunsinger. And even that they share with titans. Let's see, what's next...titans have most armor in game. Best jump boost. Really douchey looking Iron Banner Helmuts. Last and far from least is the shoulder charge. Yeh....it'd such a risk shoulder charging. To the point that I've seen strikers get like 30 kills in a game using the shoulder charge alone. No other ability can match that. It's a perpetual one shot machine that takes a couple seconds to charge EVERY time. Nevermind their OTHER melee. Point being...it's ridiculous to say that they're the most balanced in the game. As it is, before this nerf madness, I only had three issues with abilities. Firebolt, shade step and shoulder charge. Every guardian had one op ability. So it was balanced to begin with. Then shit just fell apart. And even as it fell apart, like...who gives a -blam!-? Let's just play the game. I'm only commenting about YOU guys, not the actual mechanics. Life is full adversity. You hurdle that shit and enjoy yourself. Getting wrapped up in the illusory minutiae of "fairness" just makes your experience and the experience of those around you feel shitty. Not that I don't have gripes about bungie. They're a bunch of assholes with shitty servers. But the only thing you'll ever see me asking of them is to stop dropping me from so many games. Moral of the story....no one is ruining the experience for you. This community is not to blame. Bungie is not to blame. Only you are accountable for yourself. Only you can stop forest fires. Smokey the Bear, over and out. Didn't see that one coming, did ya?

Dude i feel you. Pre patch in my opinion was the best. Next thing everones going to be complaining about voidwalkers or something. "Nerf, Nerf!" Everyone will cry out with there pitchforks. Then theyll nerf strikers. Then nightstalkers again. Then stormcallers until all we have is a watered down excuse for a game.
