I liked the finale a lot, but it was still pretty predictable like every other episode this season. Like the scene where Tommen jumps? Super obvious. Still enjoyed it though, especially all the character interactions and bits of development.
On a side note;

I didn't realize I was watching the season finale as I could have sworn GoT had 12 episodes a season...

Without source material to adapt the show has lost its subtle nuance. While annoying for those of us who have read the books, you just need to accept the two as different canons. The show is now ruled by Occam's Razor, but it still pulls of what it does in a (usually) stunning way that still makes it entertaining to watch.
