POLL: ALL IN FAVOR OF DROPPING LAST GEN SAY AYE!
I'm not going to lie, they should have initially made Destiny for the current gen consoles back in 2013. From where we are today it's like people who didn't want to buy a Blu-ray player when their DVD player still worked. The current gen consoles have been out for 3 years almost... 3 freaking years! Those systems came out over 10 years ago! Get over it, I ate a pb&j everyday for 3 months straight to save up and buy the PS4. Yes I just bought the PS3 two years before. But I could tell a remarkable difference after playing it on the PS4
For those of you who wish to believe it plays and looks exactly the same check out the video, you will be surprised. I catch myself viewing out into the Cosmodrome all the time. EDIT 2: Thanks again for all the support guys, once again I understand what some people mean by having to change to a new system, buy the same game again. But listen to me and wait until they announce either a system bundle or deluxe edition ROI. It will save you lots of moneys and it will give you some time to save up and decide if sticking with your manufacturer or going to the "other" brand (Ps4 has exclusives 😄) Stay salty guardians and see you all in September!

Yeah I'm a last gen gamer and yeah I'm working on getting a Xbox one but now I have to rebuy buy the game (which is why I never up graded) and leave behind friends). I have plenty of time to upgrade but what about those who can't get it. Maybe someone has parents that are struggling maybe someone is barely making a living as is. It's one thing to buy a new system buy the game and dlcs too. They left a lot of people in the cold. Hopefully they at least let us carry over our purchases from last gen and make the hustle a little easier.

5 RepliesI'm sure Destiny looks and plays better on the new gen consoles, but half of the gamers are still playing on the old gen and I'm one of them. The only reason why I never upgraded was because... In my opinion the XB1 and PS4 is a piece of SH**! Microsoft says they're making another XB1 with better features, If that's true then maybe I'll upgrade...

Um well im on x1 so it doesnt effect me...but i do think its kinda shity to make all of it for last gen execpt for (most likely) the last dlc for destiny 1... They shouldva cut it off either at ttk or waited until destiny2...

I'm glad the old generation is being left behind. Bungie can at least approach this expansion without having to address the limitations of those consoles which in turn could potentially set back whatever can make the expansion great.

5 RepliesI voted no for 1 reason. This is still the same game. So if they stop it mid life would be bs if they still support the same game on a different console. The moment a new "disk" game comes out, so Destiny 2, thats when Destiny 1 is over. So untill then they should support the old-gens. Its not there fault that Bungie is running 3 years with the same game disk.

If last gen is the only thing holding us back from private matches or some other cool features that enhance the overall gameplay, then I'm all for dropping them. If it doesn't enhance the overall experience, then it's kind of a dick move on Destiny's part. Unless there's some sort of incompatibility with old gen's memory or something.

4 RepliesAlthough I am old gen, but haven't played in like 2 maybe 3 weeks. I love how everyone is assuming that everyone is a child or has no job and can live off of minimal things for a video game. I would love to upgrade I work full time live paycheck to paycheck, have to keep gas in my car, food on the table. But when it comes to this as much as i love destiny I would rather just wait and if I can't get the dlc then so be it. I would much rather be spending money on finding a bigger apartment, proposing to my girlfriend and giving us a comfortable life. With maybe video games on the side. . The part that bothers me and I know its the community, is the view that everyone should day screw it and upgrade. I remember the days upgrading my pc for each new game. Maybe I'm growing up and my almost 40 year old brain has finally clicked. But the elitist harshness is just so horrible. I know this is the Internet but damn this sense of entitlement and that bungie owes everyone everything and if one person runs my fun they shouldn't play is the worst I've seen in any community

Except that the online network support of the old gen stuff on the PS3 has been atrocious at times (I imagine the 360 is similar). I knew when Destiny 2 came out that they'd be ditching the last gen - that was pretty [u] clear[/u]; anyone on the 360 or PS3 who didn't think so was only fooling themselves. I was getting ready for fall (Destiny 2) - when we all learned that the sequel is pushed back - but Year 3 is still here. The old gen is 10 years old - and its time to move on. I have a PS4 now, and I will be getting the game for it when Rise of Iron comes out - till then I will be playing with my clan and friends on PS3 - some have already moved to the PS4. There are many current gen games I will be playing in the mean time. [b] My point ? yes, we all knew this was coming - but don't post smarmy and conceited posts. [/b] Some people can't afford to just pay for a PS4 - or x-bone... but we've had a loooong time to save up for one and plan for one. Its time to step into the current generation. and I'd love to see PS4 and X-Bone in the same cross platform world. <edited for spelling>

As long as they actually advance the game's features then I am for it. If they do not give us custom games or some other major change then not allowing last gen to continue to play until Destiny 2 would be a bad choice.

I know I got destiny for next gen a little while ago and there were even some little animations that are completely left out in the old gen version. My eyes hurt at the difference for the rest of the day.

Looks like last-generation consoles are out. That would be good. If you can afford a game which can cost up to £200, you can afford a current-generation console. I'm sick of seeing 'PS3 Raid Finder' or 'Xbox 360 clan available' over the forums.

Its not really up to us so this is kind of pointless but while I do get why they should drop the last gen I also understand that some people are waiting for a good price drop or simply cant afford it for whatever reason or maybe they just don't want to purchase it yet, who knows, I took almost two years to buy mine. Lets be honest here, the starting prices for these platforms are never worth it they just want to take some money from the day one fanboys with a ridiculous price hike, a hike of at least 150 - 200 bucks now that I think about it, didn't the PS3 cost more than the PS4 on release, lmao its ridiculous how many suckers are out there. Sure its been a few years now and the price has dropped a bit but its really not worth it yet when you look at the library of games on each platform most of which are not exclusive and even the rumors of new platforms already being made, PS4.5, not to mention basic affordability. There's plenty of reasons not to buy one really and forcing a purchase will just turn more people off than on. Unless you absolutely love the game, people wont buy it and I don't think there's enough people that absolutely love Destiny but rather more people that have a love hate relationship with it and this is just more fuel for that fire sadly. To each there own!

1 ReplyI play on an Xbox 360 but also have a PS4. I have not moved to PS4 because I really don't want to have to start over. I feel Bungie should continue to support last gen with this game and move to a current gen only model with Destiny 2. Either that or figure out a way to allow players to migrate their characters from one console to another.
