If they ever did and I doubt they will, it will likely not be until we are tasked with dealing with the threat on Mercury. Remember that the Lighthouse is an outpost on a planet currently still controlled by the Vex that has actually been transformed into a machine world. In order for them to open it up as a social space there would need to be a narrative reason for us going there other than to collect our rewards for going flawless.

How are they ever going to get into time travel without making a very messed up story line? Hopefully it will be very good. But...Bungie....
-
So in order for us to fight the Vex on Mercury you figure we will need to time travel? Or that it will be featured in the story like it was in vanilla destiny with the stranger and the vault of glass? I'm not sure I follow.
-
The only way that Mercury can be restored is either travelling to a point before the Vex transformed it and stop them...or the Traveller wakes up and fixes the damage. Time travel is more likely since Bungie still won't answer questions about the Traveller or the Speaker.
-
Oh I see. I'm not sure if we will end up transforming the planet back, I figured in typical guardian fashion we would just go in and kill the vex that are there.
-
The ideal situation is not to simply kill our enemies, but to reclaim our worlds and restore our civilization. We will need to repair the damage the Vex have caused to Mercury, Venus, and Mars as part of that mission.
-
Yeah sure but from a gameplay perspective how does that work? Since we are going to be playing the same thing over and over they can't really have the maps change as a result of our actions.
-
Could have certain things change as a result of certain actions like raids or strikes; more or less of certain enemies in certain places, more or less commotion in the tower with npcs, that kind of thing. You mnow, show hoe the world can be living and breathing rather than just be a static environment that never changes.
