• P cool. I would've liked to see ewoks on Guardian, but I'm sure that violates some copyright or another.

I said this last time and I'll say this again. These map concept throwback articles are the most interesting types of new stories in a long time. Love these.

  • I know that the Bungie team is busy working on new hawtness, but I'd just like to say that I love these walkthroughs of multiplayer maps or cut content such as the Guardian Forest. Contruct and Guardian are two of the best maps in Halo 3, and it was incredible to read the backstory. I'd love to see more of them. (If you can find the time, of course.)

  • It's maps like these that made the jump from Halo 2 to Halo 3 such a horrible misstep. You need levels where players that dominate can show off how they can hold off three noobs, not have to keep moving because only half your body can be covered by a small opening. So stupid. Make games for the elite, not the idiot public.

  • Those pictures of Guardian look like the Ice Forest from Too Human. Except Guardian came out first. By the way, you navigate the Ice Forest level using man cannons. Then after you complete the Ice Forest you use, I kid you not, orbital drop pods, to travel to the next level in the game.

So stupid.
Maybe I watch too many montages on youtube, but I've seen plenty of domination on this map. Not to mention the myriad of hiding spots and tricks one can employ on this map. I feel Guardian is exactly what Halo should be: easy to pick up and play, but difficult to master.

  • Guardian was always a great map for varying playlists. I was always hoping to see Guardian Forest as a future single-player DLC, but what goes, goes.

  • As a hardcore Lockout fan from Halo 2, I was set to be disappointed at Guardian for not being a true remake. However, Guardian has become my favorite small map in Halo 3, even presiding over Blackout. I don't look at Guardian anymore as a Lockout wanna-be -- I think they really did a good job of making it like Lockout, but not Lockout. Guardian really is it's own map, and it's one of the best at that. I'm glad to know that there are great designers who work on this stuff. Amazing work guys. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the same guy worked on High-Ground and Valhalla... two more AMAZING maps (I think Valhalla might be better than Bloodgulch/Coagulation, despite the fact that BG used to one of my favorite maps ever!) Always glad to hear interviews like this where I get to learn more about the favorite places where I play. Can the next one be on Valhalla... please!
