What are the major differences between America and Japan for the average person?

Japanese people focus on the group and harmony within the group. When there is a problem, they do not focus on it as an individual one but as a group I.e. How would the solution benefit everyone else, what can everyone else get from the solution, how we can solve it as a group. It's also not stereotype but Japanese people aren't exactly boastful and aggressive. They are when the time requires them to be but they view Americans as too emotional. Japanese people are really interesting to interact with.
