• You seem to dislike the man, his past and future work, and his fans... recommend you go look into topics that interest you and where you don't have to spew venom to be noticed. But maybe you enjoy that? Either way, have a nice day, peace, love and head shots. ;)

  • Most of which has gone into funding his new studios creation and new game. This is a side project he's doing simply for the fans.

No it's not, it's a side project masked for the fans to make him a quick buck once released and also in part so he doesn't have to fork out too much from his lined pockets with his own cash. You can make an album and a very good one for much, much less than what he's asking you tubers do it and sell it on iTunes at a professional standard from home studios every day

  • Not to devalue the music you mention, but I think you underestimate the cost of an orchestral production. Renting a proper studio, hiring professional musicians, engineers and mixers, composing, arranging, and mastering such an album costs an absolute fortune. Even with Marty's own studio contributing one third of the funding, $45,000 isn't enough to have the entire album recorded with live instruments; there will likely be digitally sampled instruments in the final mix.

https://m.youtube.com/results?q=pentatonix&sm=3 https://m.youtube.com/results?q=lindsey%20stirling&sm=1 https://m.youtube.com/results?q=peter%20hollens&sm=1 https://m.youtube.com/results?q=alex%20G&sm=3 Stirling being the most successful she now does tv and festival appearances and has world tours, they all have world tours in fact. All states from home studios, all funded themselves, all didn't ask for handouts when they had oodles of cash. There are lots, lots more but there the ones I kind of follow, hollens, pentonix and Stirling being my favourites Edit: I know Marty needs more of an orchestra, noted but with someone of his ability and reputation it shouldn't be difficult

  • ^ Artists need to make a living and asking for financial support is expected, whether via Kickstarter, or by other means. Hats off to any artist wanting to be independent and staying out of corporate influence. I will gladly back an artist if I am fond of their work. The artists you cited are in a completely different line of work and complete different style of music. Logic explained it well below. Studio time and musicians are the most costly. Although Marty is well known, everybody needs a pay check and his fame will not get him a free orchestra lol.

  •
Pentatonix formed in 2011 and came to prominence the same year by winning the third season of The Sing-Off on NBC, their victory earning them $200,000 and a recording contract with Sony Music.[3][4
Pentatonix has had quite a bit of support. Marty has no recording contract, nor does he have $200,000 handy to spend on a whim since assisting in the founding of Highwire. Pentatonix also doesn't deal in orchestra, and compositions of those sort. They're an accapella group, and don't have to worry about paying for a complete orchestra of musicians, where most of the money for this project are going. As far as I know of Lindsey Stirling she is independent, though has benefitted greatly in collaboration with other artist, something Marty doesn't have the pleasure of doing. She is also a solo artist and doesn't have to pay for hundreds of professional musicians, most of which costs number in the thousands of dollars. The specific costs of musicians for this Kickstarter in fact is $20,000. Peter and Alex are likewise the same as the above 2. None of these artists are composers, attempting to complete an album with a complete orchestra. I'm not saying they're any worse, or any less professional. The costs they face is extremely different from the costs Marty is facing.

The point is not the type of music but what can be done, if he wanted to he could do it without asking for a handout from the people he is going to sell his work back to However I didn't think of the orchestra part in all honesty, so fair point but it could still be done without as I said above asking for a hand out from the people he's selling it too

The lowest amount you can donate ensures you a digital copy. Also, my point of different types of music was that there are different costs. Unless you're suggesting the cost of an orchestra is on par to a 4 man band, or as most of those artists are soloist a single instrumentalist.

  • No I'm not saying that I just think he's being a dick I love his work and respect his work but hate him as a person for reasons I've explained before. As I said you are right about the orchestra and I did not put that into account ^^ I can admit when i overlooked something

  • He definitely has an overinflated ego, one of the reason I'm sure Bungie felt the need to off him amongst his disrupting of production. However, after Music of the Spheres was essentially taken from him, I think he deserves to showcase his talent as a composer for actual pieces.

No news has been released on whether or not they'll release it. It's in a purgatory, no plan of release yet they have ownership over it. I believe a link was posted somewhere in this thread of a user who found and put together the 40 minutes that were said to be floating around the Internet. So we had most of the music technically, but there are still 18 other minutes not known. Edit: here's the link https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/195771089/0/0/1
