I didn't want the rewards this time but then decided I would grind one character to rank 5 last night. When started in I was getting totally destroyed and at first I thought it was just me because I haven't played crucible for a few weeks. Then I started noticing as soon as I would engage anyone I was dead. I even switched to mida and still couldn't win a gun battle then I knew something was up.
However the ping bars all looked good but there was definitely something wrong. I recorded a clip of me shooting the other team with quilliums (not sure if spelled right) with them shrugging it off and wasting me. All the while the ping bars looked fine.
I think whatever they did to the matchmaking algorithm is messed up right now. No this isn't me complaining because I got destroyed because I suck either just wanted to see if others encountered this.
Edit: wow sounds like Bungie has more work to do tuning this matchmaking/damage ref. Also I posted a video from more console talking about this in one of the replies. I'll post it here as well: http://youtu.be/NTO1sesVRBU
If I get time I have couple of videos that I captured that I will try to upload. The one is of the incident in my post.

I agree! I run one 318 character, and the other two are 317. I can't tell you how many times I had a one on one confrontation with someone well under 300, and losing. Granted, I'm not the greatest PvP player, but in the case of Iron Banner, there should have been no contest due to the light level discrepancy. Either light level doesn't really matter as much as Bungie advertises, or there is a connection issue being disguised by "green bars."
