I didn't want the rewards this time but then decided I would grind one character to rank 5 last night. When started in I was getting totally destroyed and at first I thought it was just me because I haven't played crucible for a few weeks. Then I started noticing as soon as I would engage anyone I was dead. I even switched to mida and still couldn't win a gun battle then I knew something was up.
However the ping bars all looked good but there was definitely something wrong. I recorded a clip of me shooting the other team with quilliums (not sure if spelled right) with them shrugging it off and wasting me. All the while the ping bars looked fine.
I think whatever they did to the matchmaking algorithm is messed up right now. No this isn't me complaining because I got destroyed because I suck either just wanted to see if others encountered this.
Edit: wow sounds like Bungie has more work to do tuning this matchmaking/damage ref. Also I posted a video from more console talking about this in one of the replies. I'll post it here as well: http://youtu.be/NTO1sesVRBU
If I get time I have couple of videos that I captured that I will try to upload. The one is of the incident in my post.

I was in a couple really laggy games last night where my controller started acting really funky. Same happened to another fireteam member. It was really strange.

Edited by KayOsS882: 3/2/2016 2:25:25 AMI don't play PvP but I thought bungie suppose to penalize people with red bar? We went into a trial match with a record of 5-0 and there was a guy who red barred. We shot at him but he shrugged it off. He proceeded to melee all three of us. This went on for another 4 rounds. At the end he had 18 total kills. We had a total of 9 kills.
-
On the last day I noticed abysmal lag Got baboon and a few other codes in about one hour That and everyone would have green bars yet be teleporting all over
-
There was definitely some issues with lag or hit detection whatever I don't know.... I directly hit a guy with my fusion three times and meleed him. He spins around one shotgun blast and I'm dead. He didn't even show damage. On the other side of it somehow I managed to survive a direct hit from a hammer and melee the titan dead. It wasn't every match but stuff is definitely happening on and off.
-
Got destroyed by a Necrochasm. A 170 attack, pre-ttk weapon wielded by a 285 warlock. Should have bounced off of me(314 warlock) like so many spit wads.
-
Same issues. Checked periodically through the match and everyone was full green every time.
-
Edited by cobaltcrimson1: 3/2/2016 1:29:58 AMI ran into less red bars than I used to but yesterday I was just playing for item drops and things had gotten worse for some reason. Honestly I think Bungie rigged their system to show red bars as green most of the time.
-
Nope. Got a 310 ghost just as expected
-
Ya I notice that too.. One time..I was super good..then next game die a lot like crazy...LOL But I know it. If I get a good/fun game for me...my opponents are not. So its ok next round it is my turn to get wrecked..don't quit..just try to hang on...I know I am facing a better player than me. Many times my fire team just 4 players from the beginning...against 6 players...we were losing so bad...then bungie added 1 players...we were catching up. At the end the added later player got sweet loot. It always like that.
-
Happened to me. Some games my bullets wouldn't do shit while a couple players on the other team annihilate me with mida seemingly not missing any shots. Some games, my hit registration is godly and I melt everyone.
-
I see this a lot . Some games I will absolutely maul people and then others I'm a whipping stick. I understand that if you do well, you will get slotted against better competition but sometimes it seems as if I can't get on target against them not that they are jumping around or so much better than I am. Not sure why this happens.

Edited by T Revski: 3/1/2016 9:12:20 PMthat happened to me a few times.... I thought i was ok..... matchmaking monster from mercury i bet..... real bad ass....
-
You having bad connection probably, not trying to insult you or say you have bad internet, I have mine hard wired and my connection tests always say 25+ down and 10+ up but some games I'll look and I'm the only red bar in the lobby, doesn't make any sense, just the game's shitty servers or whatever I guess.
-
It's not just you. I have an excellent connection, always have, and this happened to me as well.
-
Same thing happened to me. I even went in with a fireteam I always have a good connection with and it still happened.
-
Took 2 to level 5. Got 319 drops for both. Had a good tournament.
-
-
Sbmm WORKS. Except one time when a guy probably let his op friend use his account.
-
Yup, brutal
-
I ran 2 x 312's and a 314 had a good tournament then remembered I started a new account about a month ago and had a 288 warlock. Decided to take it through for a laugh and for the week it had a higher k/d than the three on this account. Got it up from 288 to 303 so yeah...worth it and a lot of fun.
-
I agree! I run one 318 character, and the other two are 317. I can't tell you how many times I had a one on one confrontation with someone well under 300, and losing. Granted, I'm not the greatest PvP player, but in the case of Iron Banner, there should have been no contest due to the light level discrepancy. Either light level doesn't really matter as much as Bungie advertises, or there is a connection issue being disguised by "green bars."
-
Yeah, I noticed that I didn't play for more than a couple hours before wandering off to do something else. First time that's happened since launch.
-
For the most part mine was good although one match ammo crates and doors wouldn't open.
-
When shooting I would get the hit marker activate but the player did not receive damage it was weird
-
Fake green bars.
-
Didn't have any issues with Banner. I had a great time and got some cool gear out of it.
