New heavy archetype

Ever since destiny came out I thought it would be cool to have a grenade launcher archetype. And while some have said it should be a special, I feel it would be best suited as a heavy so I put this post together of how my launcher would work. So to me the grenade launcher should have 4-6 in the magazine, they should fire at about the speed of a shotgun and reload similar to a shotgun (putting in each grenade) they should be able to carry 12-18 rounds, and like a grenade the blast radius would be smaller then the rockets. I'm gonna put down some of the perk ideas I had, if you have any let me know so I could add them [u][b]Grenade Types[/b][/u] [spoiler] [i]Explosive shell[/i] So this is the basic grenade one that simply explodes on impact. To get a 1 shot kill in the crucible the grenade would have to directly hit the guardian. If it was to explode right next to you, you would be on deaths door (same as just being outside the kill zone for a rocket launcher) [i]Frag shell[/i] Just like the name suggests it is a frag grenade designed to hurt you away from the direct grenade blast. The difference between this and the explosive shell is that this would bounce once and detonate on the second bounce. This would be good for getting them around corners. Again if it explodes on you, you will die. If you are away from the initial explosion you can still be heavily injured from the shrapnel. [i]Burn shell[/i] This would be a slightly less damaging grenade that will still kill you if it explodes on you but if your nearby you will take less damage then the explosive and frag but will have a burn affecting you. For solar it would be similar to dragons breath, void would be like the hunter void firewall, and arc will be similar to the aftermath on the striker. The burn won't last for too long and the detonation area will have a small area that stay like pyre or aftermath. [i]Tactical smoke[/i] If this grenade explodes on you it won't kill you but will still deal some damage. The smoke would be a little bigger then the defender bubble. The smoke WILL NOT suppress abilities or radar, it WILL NOT slow you down or stop you jumping. IT WILL make it near impossible to see. The point of this is to blind a target, if you shoot it at your opponent and they are engulfed in the smoke they will be blind and easier for you to plug away at them, if you walk into the smoke you too will be blind. If you get caught in the smoke it will be very hard to see but you can still escape by running or jumping out of it. It will be a disadvantage to the one in the smoke as the can not see where they are going, they could run into a wall or off an edge. Also the smokes colour could change to match the element. [i]EMP[/i] Not sure if this one will work to well but the idea is that it disables the radar and the hip fire crosshairs, it would also mess with our helmets vision giving it that static affect.[/spoiler] [u][b]Perk Nodes[/b][/u] [spoiler] [i]Trigger Timed[/i] Holding the trigger allows for the grenades to be delayed before exploding so they can bounce multiple times. When the trigger is released the grenade will detonate. Credit to [u]Lonestar[/u] [i]Carpet Bomb[/i] So this perk would allow the launcher to fit in full auto but only when hip firing. For me this perk would be a great combo with burn grenades as it would be similar to Dragons Breath in terms of crowd control. [i]Flat Line[/i] This perk would make it so the grenade would have a flatter trajectory when fired, this would allow for better aim while ads and would give it a boost to the speed at which it reaches the target. [i]Mortar[/i] This is my favourite. The perk makes it so that the longer airtime your grenade has the bigger the area of effect, damage and impact it would have. To me this would be awesome in PvE cause you could launch it way into the air so that when it comes down it could just destroy all the little adds and heavily damage bosses. In PvP it could work but it could also miss giving you a chance to surprisingly wiping out your opponents (and possibly even yourself) or completely missing. [i]Bunker Buster[/i] This will bring a bit of controversy but here goes. This perk makes it so that the grenades can punch through the first object (similar to the 'high caliber' perk) the difference is that this doesn't go through enemies. The point of this perk is that it can go through a Cabal Phalanx's shield before exploding. Eg. If your using the 'Frag Grenade' with this perk, the grenade will punch through the shield bounce off the Phalanx and then explode. Another use for this is in the crucible, using this perk you can shoot the grenade through a Titan's bubble. How will this not be "OP"? First off this perk will ONLY activate when it is used at the correct range (between hand cannon and shotgun) also it means that a Titan in there shield can now attack back at those outside ( it will favour the Titan inside as they are obviously in range) and lastly it's a heavy weapon so you will only get it a couple times in a game. There will be more on how Grenade Launchers in general won't be OP. [/spoiler] [b][u]Exotic[/u][/b] [spoiler] [u]The Grenadier[/u] Let It Rain-Crux/Lomar This grenade launcher will be similar to the standard in regards to stats but will have a magazine of 4. [i]Exotic Perk:[/i] The Grenadier. The grenades used are the grenades chosen in the guardians subclass tree. [i]Optional Perk 1:[/i] The two perks here would be Carpet Bomb and Flat Line. [i]Optional Perk 2:[/i] The perks here would consist of three choices between faster reload, more stability and better accuracy [i]Third Perk:[/i] Let It Rain. This is another perk just for this exotic. While grenade charge is full this weapon automatically reloads itself from reserves.[/spoiler] [u]How will Grenade Launchers not be OP?[/u] (Only doing this for PvP) First off grenades aren't as lethal as rockets so ones using them need to be more accurate or use multiple ones to take down there target. The burn grenades won't be like the firebolt with Viking Funeral but will be similar to other incendiary grenades. The amount of grenades they pick up on heavy is 4. While some may feel the exotic will be OP they should realize that one of the perks will do nothing as there will be no reserves and it's an exotic it's supposed to be a bit better then other normal ones. I would love to see more weapons introduced, some of the weapons we see the enemies using could have a guardian counterpart there are some really good ideas and if you have any yourself please post a link. Edit: just thought I should mention that the [i]Bunker Buster[/i] perk was one I thought of for a Titan exclusive but couldn't quite get the idea right if anyone has any ideas please let me know. Edit2: Lonestar made the point that all grenades should be able to bounce. For me I like my grenades to explode straight on impact, but it would definitely give the launchers a tactical advantage so I'm going to add his idea in the [i]perks[/i] section
