Alright guys and girls, here is the deal, I have been posting of a few Trials Flawless Sherpa posts. I have a pretty high KD, a good medal score, and have been flawless almost 50 times. This attracted lots of people to reply to me.
I told them to all PM me and we could work out details, but after awhile I started getting hate messages from either "Elitists" or people who have tried and failed many times at Flawless. The messages said things like
"You're a scrub for doing carries, everyone needs to earn the Lighthouse with people on skill levels as themselves. If they have a 0.6, they play with maybe 0.8s and 0.7s. Stop doing carries, it's ruining trials"
Personally I think that everyone should have the chance to see the light of mercury at least once, no matter the skill level of the player.
What do you guys think of trials carries?
Discuss freely!
EDIT - If anyone wants to see mercury send GraffitiDrifter a friend request on Xbox One. I have about 50 lighthouse visits.

I do trials carries for 50$ every game even if we lose
-
I'd rather have fun playing than have someone on my team make it a stressful experience. At the end of the day it is a game.

I was amazed at some of the salty comments here. Granted I just do bounties and get out and have accepted I probably will never see the lighthouse. But I sherpa pve daily. I help where I can. I'm a day one player and sometimes helping others makes the grind worth it. If your helping the destiny community out your awesome. A kid asked me last night why I do it. It was simple. Because I love the game and community. So who ever wrote this post........ Player play on!

Elitests will be elitests simply cause they want to be special. I think if you want to help people like that, that should be rewarded for gping out of your way to help people. This community needs more people like you.

I think it's good when handled well, like everything else in life. I've gone 8-0 once, but I carried my own weight with a mida and fusion rifle (can't quite get the handle down on a sweaty sniper). If one offers to carry without desiring payment, then I feel it's fine. I've helped people run vog - they had no idea on what to do, so I helped to explain it. I enjoyed running it and crota just because I like running those raids, and I wanted to recollect the gear. Point is, it depends on the teams' motives. Carrying in trials if fine, but the one carried AND the carrier(s) should be humbled/helping. I try to be as humble as possible if I run with a team, but definitely will enjoy those clutch plays with a fusion bolt straight to the face! Booyah!

Keep doing it man. That's what this game is about. Players helping players. Maybe someday you'll help me get there;)
-
No matter what you do, people will find a way to hate on it. If carrying folks makes you feel good, do it. If it stops being fun, then you have no obligation to do so. In the end, it's all about how you want to spend your time, and what makes you happy.

Edited by Mercenary1914: 2/7/2016 7:19:57 PMpeople got carried through VOG, NightFalls, Crota's End, Skolas Revenge, Kings Fall Raid....why should getting carried through Trials be any different?

Life is a thing, people who obsess about getting carried need to get one...

I've been doing lighthouse carries for a while now for people on lfg. But I finally started streaming what I do about four weeks ago. I never ever ask for a donation. Ever. But it's nice every once in a while to get a donation for the time you put in to help others get to the lighthouse. I've been doing it since year 1, and not matter what, there's nothing better than helping out a person that has never achieved something that they have been striving to achieve, for so long. I couldn't care less about the money. It's the pure joy that some of them show when you get that flawless message at the end of the game. Especially the younger kids that never really get the chance because they get insta kicked for being too young. Even doing a couple free Scarab runs for someone who never ever thought they would get the emblem is just an awesome experience. Sure I appreciate the donations whenever I get them. I'm gracious for anything that comes my way. But I do it out of pure joy and fun. Not trying to self promote or anything, but you can even watch my rebroadcasts and see how much fun I have with my viewers/people I play with. All in all I think that trials sherpas are good to a certain degree. There's a good way of doing it, and an extremely bad and selfish way of doing it.

"Personally I think that everyone should have the chance to see the light of mercury at least once, no matter the skill level of the player." I disagree with the above, I don't think people should get anything just because. I think people should have to earn it. But in the end, it's really not a big deal either way. I also find it hard to hate on someone who is trying to help others feel better about themselves. I think what you are doing is a great thing.

Even as a platinum elo player, its beyond annoying trying to go flawless. Its difficult to get it every week and for most its just not possible. It actually just killed the game for me this week. Went flawless on my warlock and just cpuldnt get a good group for my hunter. It takes so long to do the whole process it just takes the fun out of it after awhile.
-
I don't really care to be honest but it takes away all honor. If carrying around a weapon they got from hiding behind a box while a real player went and did the work makes their day… Then so be it.
-
Ill add you on my xbone acc, buy first need some better gear

Ban all twitch cheaters!
-
Sherpa doesn't mean carry.
-
I have never gone flawless and I've tried many times to do so. However, I still disagree. I think Trials is supposed to be a competitive end game mode and going flawless should feel like an achievement. I think that carrying randoms to 9 wins takes away the importance of going flawless for those who actually earned it.
-
Helping other guardians is the right thing to do.
-
At 40 years old, getting to the Lighthouse isn't likely to happen. So that killed my pursuit of 100% Grimoire, the only number I actually sorta give a damn about, and I've just been dicking around here for the last 8 months waiting for a decent game to come out.
-
Personally, I think when an account gets a flawless; they should be locked out till the week after. This will give lesser skilled players a hope. Ppl posting how they go flawless just to stop other ppl achieving it are just annoying.

Good. I made to the Lighthouse several times with the help of the Sherpa... unfortunately, that was back in the days of House of Wolves, so all the loot I got out of it is now useless. Thanks, Bungie...

This is what's wrong with this game and gamers today. If this game was released 10 years ago and you would ask for a carry people would laugh in your face - STRAGHT IN YOUR FACE! Nowadays instead of getting better you're asking for a carry - Kappa And basically the same "crying all the time" people destroyed that game. Because again - instead of getting better they just cried about everything demand that the game should be nerfed to their abilities. It's whack, weak, sad - and i'm not sorry for you at all.
-
I'm on the fence. I think it's cool that they want to help other guardians achieve something that some (like me) can't. On the other hand, some of them aren't really doing it for the good, but enjoy wrecking the poor souls who are struggling to simply finish bounties. There's also the thing about not earning your trip to the lighthouse, but I'm not try hard enough to to really get feelings hurt about that. They know who they are.
-
I dont think lighthouse Sherpas are REALLY helping anyone. i mean, yeah, they're helping the person get to the lighthouse, but its like giving a bum some money v giving them a job. correct me if im wrong, but isnt the IDEA of Trials to prove that you are the best of the best? its COMPETITIVE end-game, and to that extent, there must be losers if there are to be winners. and then theres the whole cheating your oppenents factor. yes, if a single person managed to beat there whole team, then obviously that team didnt deserve to go flawless, but then you are taking someone flawless who deserved it less. see the losing team is at least fighting and trying of each and every one of their own accord, each guardian putting there all into going flawless, and here comes a sherpa, giving out a free ride to someone who gave up on the notion of succeeding and takes an easy offer. morally, lighthouse sherpas cheat not only the carried, but the people they deny on the way up. people like having their accomplishments to mean something, so when someone basically cheats their way to get it too, the accomplishment becomes devalued. if gold = participation, then why would anybody care about gold?
-
It should only be a place for people who deserved it. I rather like to lose against a full team of good players than against 2 good players and the one who gets carried. Thats the Problem.. to many people recieved the Emblem and went to the lighthouse. Because of people like you So the Emblem is worth nothing. Im not saying carrying people is a bad thing but there are so many people who are waiting for getting carried and dont even try it alone or try to improve themselves. Its not only Trials, its the whole game. And this sucks
