Alright guys and girls, here is the deal, I have been posting of a few Trials Flawless Sherpa posts. I have a pretty high KD, a good medal score, and have been flawless almost 50 times. This attracted lots of people to reply to me.
I told them to all PM me and we could work out details, but after awhile I started getting hate messages from either "Elitists" or people who have tried and failed many times at Flawless. The messages said things like
"You're a scrub for doing carries, everyone needs to earn the Lighthouse with people on skill levels as themselves. If they have a 0.6, they play with maybe 0.8s and 0.7s. Stop doing carries, it's ruining trials"
Personally I think that everyone should have the chance to see the light of mercury at least once, no matter the skill level of the player.
What do you guys think of trials carries?
Discuss freely!
EDIT - If anyone wants to see mercury send GraffitiDrifter a friend request on Xbox One. I have about 50 lighthouse visits.

I have a lot of respect for people who carry. I don't go near trials, it's way beyond me. A lot of people are pretty elitist when it comes to PVP, so to carry shows you're a decent person too
-
It's good because you literally make people's day. Also some players are good players they just don't have any other friends that can carry their own weight, and with sherpas they have someone better than them that can easily carry their own weight. Glad to see people like you help out people. kuddos

Neither, it's a video game.
-
Don't see a problem long as u aren't charging for it. Everyone should get a chance to see every aspect of the game. To me u r just making the community better. Screw the toxic community that tells u not to do it
-
79% of people have either never been to Lighthouse, or have been Sherpaed. #TitanMasterRace
-
I see no problem with it, I like back story to this game and that is two grimoire cards I have yet to attain. As long as people so it for free, it is more rewarding I feel than the paid guys that "gurantee" a lighthouse/flawless run.
-
Very happy to see a positive response to this, as I've dedicated about 700 hours to doing it!
-
anyone who refers to themselves as a "sherpa" is a douchebag
-
I don't see how this is any different than only adding people with '1.3 K/D or better', 'must have emblem' etc. You are trying to give yourself as big of an advantage as possible. If nothing else, the Sherpas should be praised for actually making things harder for themselves and still winning.
-
Where is the "indifferent" choice?
-
In trials I only count trials K/D because many people like me like to try new guns. And my K/D overall is 1.12 but trials is 1.24 and that is because I take it seriously
-
I beat a carrying streamer yesterday, the abuse we got was amazing.
-
I would love to go to the lighthouse this weekend. I've never been. I maintain a 1.2+ KD on all characters I might be of help
-
I don't believe anyone should be carried through TOO because although it is only a game, a lot of players (I presume) look at TOO weapons and emblems as a badge of achievement, and I, rightly or wrongly see a TOO emblem in the crucible line-up and think Oh Sh** I am not great at PVP with my best character K/D at only 1.5, and I know I will never see the lighthouse because I would get slaughtered in TOO, but would never allow myself to be carried. Just my opinion.
-
Nothing wrong with carrying people. It does sorta devalue going flawless, but it's not a big deal.
-
I'd love to see the lighthouse since I've done everything else I can do in Destiny. Shame I'm on ps4 and the people I know personally that do ToO are on Xb1 :(
-
Some people are so bad they can't even be carried so they pay streamers to play their characters for them and then brag about the emblem they got. Both parties are pathetic losers IMO! When you finish your bounties and flawless runs, how about you stay the blam out of ToO and let others find their own way?

Edited by voodewbrewcrew: 2/8/2016 2:22:14 AMI see it as no different then helping someone thru a raid. The games for people to have fun. If you have fun helping someone thru trial or a raid, keep doing it. I have friend's that during year one, find someone in the tower that had never done one of the raids and we would take then thru. I enjoyed hearing the excitement when they got a new weapon or armor.

I commend anyone who offers legitimate help to the Lighthouse. I, personally, don't care if they were paid to do it or did it out of the kindness of their own hearts. They took the time to help someone to something they may never have seen themselves. If a lesser skilled player gets "carried" but actively participates and tries to learn and improve, then what's the issue? Are the Broncos backups less entitled to their Super Bowl rings because they were effectively carried by Manning, Miller, Ware and company? I'd love to see the Lighthouse. I'd love to play along side some great players and learn from them. Learn strategy and tactics. When to do this, when to do that. It's kinda hard to learn from people you meet on LFG.

Honestly I think it's self correcting as those players then wind up picking up the skills the need, getting the gear they want and generally being happy. It also hands easier matches to people who aren't carrying in some instances. There are also so many people carrying that in the end, they wind up getting 2 teams trying to carry, often in the flawless game in fact meaning they player getting carried gets the same excitement from it. Then again, trust this community to bitch about free wins in some cases.

Sherpas in pve - good. They help people without hurting anyone. Sherpas in pvp - bad. Sure they might help some players (a lot of which have to financially support the sherpa), however they also hurt all the players that they end up winning against while carrying. So please explain to me, how it is a good thing when they help one person (even if you exclude the financial incentive) by hurting 3 other players that are trying to get to the lighthouse legitimately. If you aren't good enough to get to the lighthouse with a group of peers, you don't deserve to get to the lighthouse. And people that stand a chance at getting to the lighthouse shouldn't have to deal with all the elites carrying a single person for $$$.
-
I have no problem with guys doing the carrying. It's the carried players that suck. Must have 1.5 kd and emblem. You check their stats. They stink and they make the emblem someone else earned them a requirement to play.
-
They're good unless they're charging for it. (check ebay)
-
It means people you see flawless most of the time you assume carries. And then people like me with a half decent elimination KD get the backlash.
-
Carry me please? 030

I'm fine with Sherpas and carries. It doesn't affect the way I play the game and it's great to see others helping. I was carried through my first nightfall and raid. Seeing the other people in my fireteam play as well as they did only made me want to play better and be more prepared the next time. I learned a lot from them. I usually do ToO every week just for the bounties. The best I've done was 5-7 wins. I'd like to make it to the Lighthouse on my own one day but I doubt it. Until then, I'll keep trying and improving (slowly).
