I don't think 343 could top bungie in anything with halo. Try as they may, it's an impossible feat.

Forge.

I heard halo 5 forge is stanky. I never used that word before, did I do it right?
-
No, the controls are different, but actually intuitive, and the possibilities are endless. Though, I'm stuck remaking Blood Gulch.
-
Its controls are weird at first but after a hour or so you will get used to it. Other than that its the best forge yer.
-
Well you used it, so no.
-
Shit... well I heard it's pretty bad. Haven't played it mysel, but I don't feel like spending $60 on it.

>story >aesthetic >audio design All those parts of Halo 4 alone were better than much of Bungie's work, especially with H3 and Reach. Not so much H5...
-
We can pretend lol. Marty made some of the best music, the aesthetics were displeasing and did you say story? You mean the one that went off the rails and they turned chief into some chosen one? Lol they screwed up halo lore so bad with that shit.
We can pretend lol.
Feel free to.
Marty made some of the best music
Not denying that. However, H4's audio design was delicious, a mixture of bizarro Forerunner futurism, and hard, crunchy scifi metallics.
the aesthetics were displeasing
Really? Because Reach felt more like Modern Military Gritfest 27, instead of a scifi game exploring mysterious worlds and far-future concepts. Give me epic escapism over brown and grey realism any day.
and did you say story? You mean the one that went off the rails and they turned chief into some chosen one? Lol they screwed up halo lore so bad with that shit.
I said story, not plot. The story of Cortana's fragmenting personality, of John's struggle to hold on to her, of Del Rio's rigid discipline to John and Lasky's heroic sacrifices... All far more interesting than Bungie's mindless space opera. Nothing against Bungie's style, of course, but H4 had more character development than the rest of the games combined.

I think they could if they go back to the roots
-
They tried with Halo 5 sorta, but still nah /:
-
the art direction 343 is taking is pretty simpel for my taste at times.
-
I used to love bungie halo to find glitches and Easter eggs. Their level design was so vast that items that were extremely far off the map were still solid. 343 just uses what could nearly be ms paint if you zoom in with a sniper. Was kind of disappointed /:

It's just a difference in priorities, not necessarily a negative. And the skyboxes aren't intentionally low texture, they're just compressed to accommodate the demanding nature of the game.
