Hey everyone I main a Warlock, mostly the Voidwalker. It's by far my favorite class.
Well I've mentioned it before to some players and they liked my idea so here it is...
My idea is to make the Shatter perk work like the Nightstalkers Quiver ability. So instead of hurling 3 Novabombs in only one direction (or spread slightly with a left stick flick) you would get 3 much smaller Novabombs comparable to the bombs currently used with shatter. Although they could be reworked to do enough damage to kill any guardians with active super or overshield if it can't already. Not sure since all 3 bombs blow up in close proximity.
So what does this do for the Voidwalker and you as a player?
Well for starters it means we have a greater chance at killing people/more people in the Crucible. I won't hide this fact, having mobility between shots would be fantastic and deadly.
Outside of the Crucible this would make clearing ads even better! We could finally aim each bomb exactly where we want them to go to maximize Bloom and Annihilate.
As far as it goes with the "realness" factor it actually makes more sense than shatter does now. You're making your Novabomb smaller and hurling it three times instead of one massive bomb or somehow throwing all three at once.
This is just an idea I've had playing my favorite class. It's not a buff, not a way to abuse the Novabomb, just a simple rework to give options instead of the "all in one shot wonders" we already are.

I prefer the current system perfectly I enjoy the wider area of devastation personally couple that with angry magic and you can flat out control a zone

Hmmmm, honestly i can dig it. I've almost mained a warlock since week 1 of destiny and voidwalker is my prefered class. In pvp the other guy is right to many people will complain about it, in pve that would be fantastic. I think making an exotic that does it should be enough, like the symbiote for hunters. Also why doesn't the final upgrade on our void walkers work. The one that makes grenades and nova bombs trigger energy drain?

Yes. I had an idea like this before where instead of shatter breaking nova bomb into three projectiles and shorting them in one direction, the three are shot in different directions around you in a triangle shape to create a circle of destruction. It would be great in PvE with enemies all around you, but to be honest, I prefer your suggestion about making it sort of like quiver. The only problem I see is that all the hunter crybabies will want it nerfed like hammer and everything else. Awesome suggestion man, Bump. PS: WARLOCK MASTER RACE!!

Personally. I really don't think this is as good idea as it sounds. I think it defeats the purpose of a nova bomb being a large burst of damage on a single area.

I've had this idea as well, the only reason I'm against it is for the very fact that it is like quiver for hunters. Though reading your post made me start thinking again, particularly in the name of it being shatter. With a name like that, make the balls break apart further. Sort of like the scatter grenade. While either keeping it at throwing 3 smaller ones or going back to the bigger one and then eventually breaking into 3 smaller ones and so forth. I find supers to be a bit too ridiculous in PvP but I'll admit ridiculous is pretty cool otherwise.

Nah, just make and exotic helmet or something that changes shatter. I like the current shatter node. It lets me take out bubble and kills everyone inside.
